What can you expect from someone who only gets their news from the likes of Limbaugh and Liddy

Go Padre of course he won----
He had a little help many blacks were turned away they did not get to vote, and only in the State of Fla (my state), deceased got to vote and be counted---
So of course he won-----Why they even wrote a book on how to vote in Fla even if you are deceased...
So please do not make my state the honorable state of Fla. to be so honest, and the votes all counted.....

krs, I wish I were making it up. But no, a local teacher who was the one who found the kids' picture told me about it. Sorry no news story for you to look at. But then what matters is not that you believe it, but that it happened and it is sad and wrong.

OK, but they were coached. I mean they learned it from either an adult or other kids who did. From some derisive comentary about the presiddent by some adult or another.

You mean like news reports and comedians. You are right, they did learn about it from adults. Pity.

Though grannyfox is sadly misinformed politically, she's a great woman and a fine poster... Oddly enough, she is, in fact, the very person who once advised me to never post about politics...LOL!

Hiya GF!

So what if Clinton got a hummer, heck sinatra was banging nancy reagan and there is *proof* of that. I was watching C-Span today and I must say they are the only network that shows both sides of every political story. Did anyone else see the protests? If you think Al Gore got alot of votes this year wait till 2004! I bet the polls will be crammed. Does anyone have a countdown timer till election day 2004?

Hey toke, how are ya? Can ya blame me for stopping ya from talking politics...I don't want you as the opposing spokesman, you are apt to make sense. I do know Republicans that can.

I stayed away for well over a month. I did not post my ideals or ideas about politics until the USSC stepped in. That upset me (I know that probably comes as a shock). Elections are important, they represent the voice of the people. If Bush had won the election I would say OK he won it.

No matter, he is our President. I have no need to attack him or belittle him. I just do not like the way he obtained office.

Spaz, I don't get morally outraged over peoples sex lives as long as they are all consenting adults. I was more embarassed by the ongoing news coverage and investigation into the affair than by the affair itself, but even then I was not morally outrage. My moral outrage is saved for very special occasions, not presidential affairs or handling charges. Shoot, not even the appointment of GWB for four years, it is just a warning that things need to be corrected within our system to keep it a credible representation of a government of and for the people.

Yes, I am Independant too. Sucks here in NY, because if you don't belong to one of the two Biggies you don't get to vote in the Primarys. I would have voted for McCain. Oh well...

It is good to see you out and about at the same time I am.

I seemed to have missed some goings on cuz I am clueless about stuff in the Moderators Corner.

Here's a silly thought:
Mayhap I did not read this whole thing closely enough, but what about the "news" reporting that Gore had won Fla before the panhandle had a chance to finish voting? That is the strongest Republican base in the state, and if they were discouraged to vote, then the state was almost given to Gore. Besides, this was really Gore's election to loose, and guess what...he lost. Everyone speaks on Ashcroft loosing his reelection bid, but what about the embarrasement of being only the second president to not win your home state.

In the begining, God created the heavens and the earth.

granny, I would have voted for McCain too. And I will in 2004.

Bush Jr. being President would be fall down on the floor funny if it weren't so scary. The entire world is laughing at America. And not just about the election process, but about Bush himself. I read a page with excerpts from papers around the world and one that stands out in my mind is a quote from a newspaper in England that said "The day Bush became President, the Atlantic doubled in width." The only positive comment I saw was from the Iranians... 'nuf said.

I'm not quite sure what your point is. I think we are discussing the failure to count the votes of people who did vote. And of the USSC jumping into a conflict where they did not belong.

But you are correct, Gore did not carry Tennesee. That has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the election was made a farce of, but it is at least a fact.

I liked McCain too...but it appeared his own party wiped him out. They're not too crazy about campaign finance reform. McCain said today he'd negotiate the timing a little, but he's still "out for blood" on that issue. Should be interesting.

From what I understand, Limbaugh the Repulsive was pro-Bush, anti-McCain. What I've never heard is...WHY? Money, maybe? I can't bear to listen to that man, so I've never known the skinny........

if i remember what i read in the local paper yesterday morning when i was half asleep-two south Florida newspapers were challenged on their right to count the votes in the state. they prevailed and will begin the count this week.

Well we shall see what happens in 2004. The Supreme Court says this ruling does not build case law that it only applies to this situation. But if Gore runs again I guess it would still apply right? They might say hey we ruled on this one already. Bush wins.

These are the facts:

1. George W. Bush is the President.

2. More people voted for Gore, regardless of what happened in Florida or the electoral college.

3. Refer to fact number one.

Read the article, it's good.

Bugliosi makes a sound case that 5 supreme court justices are guilty, he doesn't accuse Bush of anything but benefitting from their crime.

No postings so far on this thread have disputed any of his claims; Does that mean that all who have read the article agree with everything in it?

Hi Charlotte,

No moral outrage here. What ticked me off was the sheer arrogance of him thinking he could get away with it. That is what I consider sick. Compounding the arrogance is that he had the nerve (or lack of self control, take your pick) to do it on the public's time. Meanwhile, low-level public employees get fired for relatively minor stuff like using work vehicles for non-work-related travel.

Question for the Moderators:

chum used the term hummer in his post. It's been left standing for more than 24 hours, so I assume it meets with your approval. My question is, can I use the term blow job here at AW? Blow job and hummer are coarse, some would say vulgar, slang terms used to describe the act of fellatio, or oral sex.

Further, if you tell me that it is not okay to go around saying blow job on the AW boards, can you explain to me then why it's okay to say hummer?

Thanks.

Antonin Scalia is guilty and a disgrace to the nation.
Clarence Thomas is guilty and a disgrace to the nation.
William Rehnquist is guilty and a disgrace to the nation.
Sandra Day O'Connor is guilty and a disgrace to the nation.
Anthony Kennedy is guilty and a disgrace to the nation.
