And Kiara is the den mother of her own message board.

Fluff, the others can't see all the one cent or ten cent final bids but I can. That wouldn't be bad but to act like an arrogant 'Gods gift to the world of commerce' and repeatedly belittle and berate small sellers wears thin with me. If you weren't gouging the bidders with excessive shipping costs and prohibiting combining of items you would be making almost no money at all. Sellers like you must leave a bad taste in many ebay bidders mouths and god knows how many bidders you have chased from the site by being the world's biggest misanthrope. ( I know you'll tske that as high praise ).

Are you now saying that you are the only one that ebay allows access to viewing closed auctions? Amazing, Ace.

Psst....... just so you know, I can see them too. But I only see one 10 cent one.

I think most of the bidders realize they are getting a good deal on the sterling silver jewelry. Maybe we don't all agree with the way some handle their auctions but as long as it's within ebay's guidelines I guess they can do as they please.

The folks who claim they are achieving 90-100% sell through rates on Ebay are the same ones who bragged about getting lucky in high school. The ones who never got diddly so they had to talk about it.

I meant closed auctions.

I see lots of penny closing prices and sub $1 closing prices and throwing out the scarp silver and scrap gold lots and other lots it looks like an $6 to $8 average at best. Yet she acts like she makes a fortune and hobby sellers are dung. Have a nice day.

I'm talking about closed auctions also. I'm just amazed that you think you are the only one with access to them, Ace.

it looks like an $8 average at best.

Perhaps you're viewing the wrong auctions as I see averages of $75 to $100 on the scarp. Or else you're just spouting misinformation here, trying to make yourself look good.

OTOH, perhaps you are jealous that you're not the one going on the cruise because you haven't sold anything on ebay.

Kiara darling, do you think Flunky is getting the scrap from a closeout wholesaler? She's probably scamming little old ladies out of that.

I'm only talking about closeout sterling silver items.

Add the numbers, Ace. Add the auctions and throw in the S&H. Actually I think you already did and the green-eyed monster has reared its ugly head.

Fluffy sells silver and I sell silver.

I'm only talking.......

Proves my point that when it comes to silver jewelry and selling you know.........

I am probably sticking my hokie-pokie left foot in where I shouldn't here but I did post in another thread "i get a kick out of the intellectual battles" you guys do.
It's the very frankness that is so appealing on this board that prompts me to make an observation here.

First, I think newbie's to selling like myself can learn alot from Fluffy. Although she comes off haughty at times, she often has very good points to contribute. (I also think that is just part of her 'persona' and her self-admitted curmudegon way of being humorous.)

Then, as much I've seen some rap on AuctionAce, I've noticed he is almost always the first one to post a link if someone asks a question and he has the direction for the answer. And often his posts include very informative articles that I've appreciated reading, or humorous links to auctions that have broken the doledrums of listing and researching on end.

You know, in all actuality, she is probably right. If one's not making a good sum of money at this (whatever the method), it is alot of time and energy spent. But yeah, alot people are out at race tracks, sporting events, casinos, bars, or whatever wasting their time, money and energy too. That doesnt make it a smart thing to do. But we cant all be brain surgeons (Kiara! ), so its kind of like saying studying liberal arts is a waste of money because you cant get a high tech job with it. But does everybody WANT to be high tech anyway?

Ok, I'm done. Now I gotta go manage my meager auctions!! haha!!

We have been Power Sellers for a number of years, and we DON'T sell high end items - many of our sales are $6-$15, with others averaging $30-$40.

We don't "flaunt" the PS emblem, I think such is tasteless & narcissistic , but we do have the little PS emblem up by our name.

I have found being a PS advantageous, but only when I have a major problem. When such arises we have found we can get a fast, REAL, answer to our problem, instead of waiting days for a computerized response which usually doesn't relate to anything we are asking. I stay a PS just to assist in solving the unique and rare problem which we might encounter.

Just wanted to point out that once you've qualified for PowerSellerness, you can sign up at any time....like 30 seconds after you have a problem you need help with.

Membership is instantaneous...or it has been the couple of times I've signed up.

I dropped the PS moniker some months ago but would consider resuming it if I needed a certain level of support.

Our motto: Bright and shiny baubles for persons with low impulse control.
