What's the reason for a temporary chatroom?
Well, I've got something better to do.
Don't want an MSN passport.
Don't want MSN chat client.
Don't want a hotmail account.
What's wrong with Auction Watch?

What's the temporary chat room all about?
edited to say that just when I think I've got this place even halfway figured out I can see that I really don't

It's like whispering in public.
That's tacky, my mama taught me.

The room isn't about anything. Sometimes it is nice to chat directly rather than through a message board is all. I just opened it and left it open in case anyone wanted to chat.
Hey HJW...you don't want it? Don't get it then. No biggie. I'm glad you have something better to do.

Well, I don't really have a very busy agenda
today, but most anything would be better than
joining your little group.

I'm not sure what little group you're talking about. Geez, why be so nasty?
And it was made public for anyone who wanted to enter, so it's not the same as whispering in public. No one would be excluded at all.
I'm outta here for a while folks, tempers seem to be raging.

"Download AOL Instant Messenger and you can chat with me online. You can curse me out and I don't care, as long as it's not in the forum! (Ha, ha!) ********* and ******* are already online, it would be great if you could join us. Sort of an AW secret club or something! We can laugh at the moderators behind their backs (grin!)"

Except for the chat part, it could also be a posters on certain public message boards who like to attack AW members and moderators behind their backs rather than to their faces.

You're right, Bobbi355. It's the hypocricy that bugs me, too. These same posters return here to AW and show a different face.

You know what? Everyone has totally misconstrued my intent.
I opened a chat room, a temporary, go away when everyone leaves, chat room. I opened it, and I left it sit there.
One person came in that I was aware of, someone who uses AW but only lurks on the boards. She was just checking it out.
I didn't start a board, or a web site, or anything of the like. It wasn't to laugh behind anyone’s back, or exclude anyone, or make fun, or talk about the moderators. It wasn't to be selective in who could come in, or anything of the kind.
You all have seriously overactive imaginations.
I've been a member here and have posted for about 1 1/2 years. I've got no sneaky motives, here or anywhere.
Go chase conspiracy theories somewhere else, there aren't any to be found here.

Wow, that was weird. I missed the original posts, but didn't see anything inflammatory which would cause such a hostile outbreak.
Chat rooms are just a different method of communicating than message boards. A "for fun" type thing. Did I miss a major piece of the puzzle?

So, do you get your group together and then
delete your invitation. Is this the way it
works?
Seem's very strange to me and very inappropriate to advertise this on a public
board

LOL! No, everyone, dejavu the poster didn't say that. This situation is like another previous one, thus "dejavu", like been there before.

I must have missed something major here. Why are folks jumping Meya as if she had something to do with that?

That seems to be true today, Ken. In addition to this thread here, I'm arguing about the French court decision in the Yahoo forum and sticking in my two cents on the eBay Outlook forum concerning eBay's new policy regarding off-site sales.
