I didn't realize what a mess my desk was until I took this picture. I'd better start cleaning. All the stuff in the background in my antique shop, but now that looks really messy too. I guess I'd better start cleaning NOW!

And for the dog people, I've also attached a picture of my baby.

Classic...That Videonics MX1 is a sweet piece of technology. I bought one from a guy who didn't know what it was. He had bought it at a storage auction. I got it for 5 bucks. I listed it and made enough to pay my property taxes. While I was testing it, I had a ball. Those are the units the tv stations use to get the map behind the weather forcaster on the evening news. I was amazed at what you can do with one of those. I sort of hated the idea of parting with it. The final bid helped soften the trauma, though

Claasic - which dvd recorder do you have? I have the Panasonic E-30 and E-50 and love them both. I was looking at some of the newer models but didn't see the need to pay and extra $300 for a hard drive since I have a digital recorder on my cable. I love that now my four racks of vhs tapes now fit in a single disk organizer on my bookshelf - I could just kiss the person that invented that little jewel.

One of the guys I see at he post office deals in concert videos - I keep telling him he needs to get a recorder but he seems to enjoy resisting technology.

Classic...I know you've already thought of it, but there may be a few lurkers who are considering getting into selling so I'll mention it. Considering the line of products you deal in, most if not all of the equipment you have in that list would be considered tools of your trade and with the rapid advances being made in technology your accountant can have a field day at tax time deciding whether to set up some type of accelerated depreciation schedule or a straight write off. Either way, it translates to $$$ in your pocket.

Fennix03--I actually have two of the panasonic E 80'S that have the 80GB hard drive on them. One I have hooked up to my sattelite system in my "home theater" room, and the other I have in this room.
As far as your friend goes, hes missing out
on the great technology of dvd recording.
For example I obtain 80 episodes of "the untouchables" series that are not available from columbia house. So I copied these on "double sided" dvds in the "LP" mode I ended up getting 4 episodes on each side for a total of 8 episodes on one dvd.A better example is I have about 40 episodes of the "Topper" comedy series which are only about 25 minutes in length-I managed to get 8 episodes on each side for a total of 16 epsisodes on one dvd! can you imagine the space Im saving instead of having these on cassette-the best part is you can scroll to the episode you want-no fast forwarding-of course I would only record something in the LP mode if it was in black and white-color quality would suffer too much and you would defeat the purpose of having a dvd recorder in the first place.

Classic - I use LP (mainly on my West Wing collection etc) and really have not had any problems. I have one hooked up to my cable digital recorder (great for editing commericals out of shows) and another hooked up to a VCR and spare TV in my office that I use exclusively to transfer my VHS collection to DVD. I love being able to segment the recording and my motorcycle loving friend in Mexico loves getting episodes of American Chopper on DVD

Have you ever used any of the earlier models? I'm just wondering if there are any difference other than the hard drive?

My heart is beating fast, glassgrl, do you own a liquor store, too?

Can't show an eBayers desk, but this just belongs here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2994171485&category=48920

Oh, there is a ping coming through from eBay motors that will cause a Norton firewall to reject that site after the ping. The ping 'originates' in Jackson, IL. I don't know what it is about, but eBay is doing a keystone kops routine.......

Can you stand another messy desk? Check out the 'boomer' lighted magnifying glass, my older eyes can't see the marks any more. LOL
