I should know better, I'm aware of that now. But, on that OTHER board, they don't think you should leave a negative for a non-paying bidder. No wonder there are so many NPBs with postive and no negative feedback. They seem to think that just filing to get your fees back is enough. Well - IT'S NOT! You should be nice to them and just file for your fees. So, after I got ragged on for leaving a neg to a NPB (here's a first, she left me one before I had a chance to do it, the dirty dog) (sorry, Ralphie, don't mean to rag on dogs, LOL), I decided to stay away for good and come back here where the sane sellers live!

Insantiy, it is all insanity! Please, oh please, leave the negatives. It's the only way we have to know if the bidders are trouble or not.

There are actually lots of auction discussion boards, but would it be the OTher Wiggy boArd you're referring to?

In that case, I agree wholeheartedly. One stick-up-his-butt dimbulb over there had an aneurysm because I made a derogatory comment about a food item. His compadres apparently are just as divorced from reality as he.

Yes, fluffy, that would be the board. I am now wearing my first neg with pride although it was not deserved. However, she did get what she deserved.

The value in it is alerting other sellers the bidder's nasty habits. Well, let's see, this bidder now made her FB private which will set off even more alarm bells. That's redeeming value enough for me!

I won't leave negs for non paying bidders, but you are welcome to if you want. I will file to get my money back, but leaving a neg really doesn't do anything now, does it? Someone can have 100 positive and 90 negs, and still be a buyer in good standing. You need 3 FVF's to be tossed, that is where the power is. I for one don't have time to review the feedback history of every single buyer, and most sellers I imagine don't do that either. How could leaving a neg possibly benefit me? All it does is leave yourself open for a retalitory neg. I try to avoid them when I can because having negative feedback does affect sellers.

WHAT is the "other board"? Is it Vendio Roundtable or some group of insane people somewhere else? Please tell me so I can avoid it.

Well, one can always find a rationalization for cowardice, right?

"other board"?

C'mon folks, we've told you already in this thread. Read carefully. Capitalization counts.

Roadsmith,

You said "WHAT is the "other board"? Is it Vendio Roundtable or some group of insane people somewhere else?

I think what you meant to say was "WHAT is the "other board"? Is it Vendio Roundtable or some OTHER group of insane people somewhere else?

ebayvet,

I'm in your camp. From a cold unemotional business point of view there's absolutely nothing to be gained by leaving a buyer a neg. File and NPB and move on. If eBay changes their feedback system I might change my policy, but until then I don't leave a buyer a negative feedback.

OK, I'll be patient and play along.

Can ANY seller point me to a sale they didn't complete because they had a (horrors!) negative in their feedback?

fluffy

I'd like to hear the answer to that one. I got my first neg today and added two more bids to my auctions. Fear not the evil neg! No wonder these bidders are running the show. They know they've put the fear of God in you. And then you come here and complain about your NPBs. If someone had negged them appropriately, maybe you would have cancelled their bid and wouldn't have had to deal with them.

Japerton -

We may not have avatars here, but at least we can use the term "redneck" and the thread won't be closed because someone thinks it sounds stereotypical and bigoted.

Be grateful for what we have.

ebayvet, you quoted someone else, I have to agree with both of you

"I'm in your camp. From a cold unemotional business point of view there's absolutely nothing to be gained by leaving a buyer a neg. File and NPB and move on. If eBay changes their feedback system I might change my policy, but until then I don't leave a buyer a negative feedback."

I don't leave negatives either, it isn't worth the negative retaliation - when eBay changes I will too. I'd like to see eBay disallow feedback from those who don't pay...

I'll dive in. Sometimes I leave neg, sometimes I don't. It depends on the mood I'm in.
