Excellent insight! Many of us are forgiving of the atrocities that Reagan administered, though it is hard to move on.
I can see that his lack of respect for humankind also came full circle and nipped him with such a wasting disease. It is such a shame that his policies couldn't extend a helping hand to those in need, those who suffered with AIDS, those where fell to addiction of Crack cocaine, those who died under apartheid, etc. Reagan chose to walk down that "moral" road of his and it came back to haunt him. It shouldn't be a Presidents choice as to who lives and who dies. A President's duty is to preserve the right to our basic freedoms of life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. A President needs to understand that his duty is to ALL of the people of this country, not the corporations and industries who benefit from his conservative policies.
President Bush has decided to walk down this same path, and who knows... it may be him that ends up with an incurable disease because of his choice against stem cell research. Only time will tell...

Great post Cheryl!
Perhaps the timing was in bad taste, and that the positive things that Reagan did were being ignored (patriotism is a good thing folks!)...but don't fool yourselves or try to force your opinion on others --- Reagan was not a saint.

Thanks, guys and gals! I get great articles and comments from my friend in London. We've been Emailing for 6 years now and I only know him as Ciggy. No last name, not even a real first name. He sent me his pic once and I sent him mine and that's all we've seen of each other. Yet, I feel like we are the greatest of pals. I especially love the ones he sends me after a night out at the "pub".
