The story in this weeks AntiqueWeek titled "Pressure from antiques trade halts oppressive California bill". It tells that the bill was shot down 10-3 but that the bill could resurface and should be monitored daily.
Says California legislature adjourns Aug.31 and anything could happen between now and then. Also caution that the bill SB1893 could be hijacked for reintroduction in the senate as a new bill by changing some wording.
They advise the antique trade in California contact their assembly members , state senators, and all members of the state legislature with a blanket email. Also contact Gov. Schwarzennegger [email protected] or the expedited internal link at www.govmail.ca.gov urging him to veto this bill. It can't become law unless the Governor signs it. Stop Bill SB1893.

If eBay was incorporated in California, then the lawyer who did it would probably be sued for malpractice. Ebay is most likley incorporated in Delaware or Nevada. You may be confusing where a company has some employees and equipment and where it is legally domiciled for tax purposes and legal forum.
It's main offices are in California. Their servers are located in California, actually in the same building as Vendio's servers. And they do pay a substantial amount in corporate taxes to the state. This has been public knowledge for years and has been fully disclosed to the SEC in numerous filings.
All of the above is meaningless in determining where ebay corporation is "domiciled" for tax purposes. It is probably a lawyers PO box in either Delaware to Nevada.
Just checked the SEC filings, eBay is A DELAWARE CORPORATION.
