Comrade Japerton, please explain why all of my stocks crashed on Clinton's watch? Why was there so much corporate corruption during Clinton's watch? Billion dollar dotcoms? And terrorists getting a slap on the hand? Bush is cleaning up the mess Clinton left.

It's called economics. Markets have cycles.
Dot coms were hard working folks with good ideas.
Not Halliburton with non-competative bids in Iraqi oil fields and Corporate Takeover of the whitehouse a la Cheney. Does that guy remind you of your angry Algebra teacher or what? And just as water retentive, I am sure!
Please, try some facts, eh? My home's price doubled, my stocks, because I didn't invest in one sector or follow the bulls, did a healthy 10 fold return under Clinton. Of course the high tech sector had to pull back, but anyone with two brain cells to rub together could have told you that back in 1994 when things were heating up.
Oh, and we had a surplus budget. Funny how a Tax and Spend repuglican can garner such blind loyalty.
Gee, and my dad served in Vietman under a democratic president, but that silly repuglican won on Peace. Gee whiz.
Oh well, I can live in my skin, and I don't need to worry about being called "comrade" by a lower life form.
Gosh, and here I am off topic. oopsy.

Now ... how do you explain your brave and ever so SMART leader sitting for 7 min with the deer in the head lights look after being told that WTC 2 had been hit? No Dick or Daddy to tell him what to say or do is my answer .... how do you explain it?
BTW our house and savings grew in the 90's thanks to you know who!!!! Since then I think we are all peddling fast to stay afloat!

Oddly, my husband received the e-mail, and he hasn't had a PayPal account very long. On the other hand, I have had a PayPal Business account for YEARS, and I have not received a mailing on the law suit at all!!!

I am waiting for someone to sue PayPal for limiting what you can charge on PayPal, that is specific items, which on PayPal are a no no because they belong to eBay and eBay is based in CA.

From what I understand of our of Merchant Account rules, I can't deny a customer use of their credit card for something they want to purchase, particularly if said item is legal in their home state.

PayPal does this, and then threatens to close your account if such a payment comes through. The few times we have gotten such a payment, we have immediately done a refund, so our PayPal account wouldn't be effected, then explained to the customer, since the customer could easily charge the item direct with us.

PERSONALLY, I think eBay and PayPal have FAR EXCEED THE LAW, placing restrictions on many things which they have no legal right to do.

I am always glad to see anyone sue and win against them - regardless of the value of the settlement.

buyhigh - "Think the only ones who gain anything by these class action lawsuits are the law firms who handle them. Everyone else gets pennies."

Well, in alot of ways you are correct, but you also have to consider this. These law firms work on contingency based on the claim for the class action. The original claimants probably paid an attorney to represent them, and through their discovery phase, they realized they had a much bigger thing going on. So, the attorney's filed for Class Action status, and when approved they pay to advertise the Class Action to get others involved. they pay to process the claims, they pay quite a bit of overhead for this process. The attorney's do make good money on this, but keep in mind, this is why they have law degrees to begin with. Without the attorneys, we wouldn't have any representation and Paypal wouldn't have a thing to worry about. They could get away with anything.

This won't be my first class action, and I used to work for an attorney. There is an element of risk involved, and the attorney's who represent well are the one's who make good money. Those are the attorney's we want representing us to begin with.
