snowydays are you defending Dumbya again???
Ok, I'll throw the question at you once more that still remains unanswered:

How can any human rationalize George Bush's cutting off any funding or support to groups who offer troubled pregnant women emotional counseling, advice, and alternatives to abortion?

Thumpin my foot and waiting to hear anything that can possibly justify such a hypocritic act. He is against abortion, and yet he won't allow anyone to counsel women with alternate choices... duh duh duh duh duh

Some people are not good public speakers, that does not make them unintelligent. If I had to speak in public, most people would probably think I was a moron.

We had to live with Clinton for 4 years, and I am glad to see all of you all stirred up about Bush.

chococake, glad to see you came back to argue with me.

Too make fun of someone because of their looks is ignorant. Hillary Clinton has a huge ass, George W. Bush has big ears, so what? Looks or physical attributes are no measure of intelligence.

I don't really care to get into the abortion debate again. I have said what I had to say before on the topic, abortion is wrong to me and at least half of the American population according to the polls. I don't have to justify my thoughts on it to anyone. Why don't these women learn what birth control is? Some of them do, I understand that, but too many people are using abortion as a form of birth control which is not fair or right.

I did not come into this discussion on the abortion issue. I came here to tell a few how disgusting they were to hope that another human being was murdered. Ignorance like that sure will not sway my opinion any. I bet those that were making fun of his ears were the kind that were mean to the poor and retarded kids in high school. I have no respect for people like that.

Snowydays, I understand the temptation to explain away Bush's brand of articulation. You support his politics, so you support the man. Makes sense to me.

But he makes up words. Hopefullerness. Misunderestimate.

What the hell are those?

And what the hell are these???

"I confirmed to the prime minister that we appreciate our friendship."--After meeting with Prime Minister Jean Chrétien of Canada, Feb. 5, 2001

Just like most of you supported Clinton when he showed what a lying scumbag he was. I find it funny that all of you drag up these quotes that Bush has made to prove that he is stupid, but, yet, you supported a man who had no moral fiber? You ignored Whitewater, Travelgate etc. etc. etc. because you supported your President, didn't you? You make fun of Bush for taking drugs, but you ignore the fact that Clinton smoked dope, lied, had extra-marital affairs, sexually harrassed women, and was a sorry ass draft dodger? I would think the same of Bush if he does the things that Clinton did in office.

I was supposed to teach my children good family values and how to live a good decent life while that man was in the Oval Office getting a b***job by a young intern?

After Clinton's first wave of bannings and Presidential orders of gun bans - I was appalled to see hateful bumper stickers being sold that said "Where is Lee Harvey Oswald when you need him?" What a totally sickening concept it was.

I had thought that we would have been beyond that by now.

I guess the guy can still sell them - at least to some few people - but at different venues. I guess that there must be a new market opening up for the few Road Rage liberals and a few eco-terrorists.

Same kind of corrosive hate - just different cars to put the bumper stickers on.

To sit and gleefully await the murder of another human being - to sit and polish and nurture that kind hate until it is hard and seamless.

To actively want a man dead because you do not agree with his politics?

I don't have that kind of time to waste in my limited lifespan, to spend it polishing such a ball of hate.

End Of Line

You don't know any of my positions on Clinton, because I haven't stated them.

Clinton is a sleazy man. Most people ackowledge that, even if they feel his tenure was effective overall.

Bush is an unintelligent man, and remains the case even if his tenure is effective.

In your opinion he is unintelligent. Clinton showed a decided lack of intelligence in many of his affairs also.

nutspec: Thank you for saying so well what I could not.

snowydays, you said:

"I came here to tell a few how disgusting they were to hope that another human being was murdered".

When do you expect to be finished saying that?

The empirical evidence suggests that Bush is unintelligent. Are we to not judge a man by his own words?

It is your opinion that Clinton is unintelligent.

Thanks, krs. I needed a good out-loud chuckle. Hope everyone caught that--"hopefuller"--such a literate guy.

I hope you've all been reading Doonesbury lately. Tooooo good. Adele

krs: I dunno, I tend to get repetitive when I am ticked off.

When do you expect to quit posting all this fine information that we could never have found without your help? The Bush threads are just as tiring to some people as my comments are to others.

Does also mean that you agree that Bush is unintelligent?

"We had to live with Clinton for 4 years"

Was it four years ago that you became aware that you had to live with Clinton?

Are you a lawyer, Ken?

BTW, "4" is only 4 stroke keys away from "8". It could be a typo.

I am a college graduate, I like to think of myself as reasonably intelligent. I rarely watch anything on television that is not TLC, DISC, or A&E. I read probably 20 books a month. I am not good at putting down what I really want to say on paper, or on a message board. My sentences do not always come out like I want them to. I know lots of big words, but type or speak simply. I have no desire to dazzle others with my large vocabulary or to spend the time to construct clever sentences. Does all of this make me unintelligent?

krs, I think that Bush does a lot of speaking before he thinks it through, and that is is not very bright. Can someone remember where it was that the SAT scores of Bush and Gore were posted?

Typo, it DID seem like 20 years though.

The SATs are widely considered to be a measure of how well you take the SATs, not of intelligence. Same with IQ tests.

Nothing you've said has indicated to me that you are unintelligent, Snowydays.

With Bush it goes beyond a "not thinking on his feet" type of thing (which in itself is problematic enough). He invents words. He says things that don't make sense no matter how you read them. I'm not saying he isn't a functioning adult, but he is certainly on the lower end of the intelligence spectrum.

People say the same thing about Reagan, but that charge doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Reagan wasn't a snooty intellectual, but he certainly was intelligent and he was articulate as well.

"Invents" implies creative abilities. He just screws words all up.

For that to be true the "the" would have to be removed, I would think.

I am sorry, but I do believe that you are wrong on that one. You can not be unintelligent and make the scores that both Bush and Gore did on the SAT's. Ya gotta have some smarts to score in that range. Obviously several publications thought it had some importance for it was published several times to "prove" something, what, I don't know.

No more is correct. In grammatical usage the principle is known as the degrees of comparison. When two things are being compared, the comparative degree, more, would be correct. For more than two, most, the superlative degree, would be correct.
