Do these things work?
Does anyone know?
Mice in the garage

Can you really plug something in and keep them away?
Where to buy?

Thank you!

are you sure? drat! I was afraid of this.

I am married to a Taurus - they shop mail order you know...

He sent me an email instructing me to request an online pal order (2) units from "Walter Drake" because they don't ship here(?) on our behalf the tune of $128.

I thought I would ask if they work.

This bad news - because I don't think he will be convinced.
Drat, double drat!

VM...

Dunno about the mice, but they've had devices like that for fleas on dogs and cats... According to my friend the dog officer...they do NOT work

VM...

Are you kidding??? It's a shame. These things sound so logical...and like they should work.

Doesn't he like cats?

Yes I am kidding toke, and he does like cats but we have a dog.

He just did all this research - apparently some guy he works with says this'll do it and so he put all this elaborate thing together and I am supposed to forward to do the ship to there, ship to here thing -- he is even paying the extra $10 for express from "Walter Drake" and I just don't crave telling him that his effort to protect his family from mice is for nothing...

I love him and all that.

Just think tough love. It's for his own good (and that of his wallet)...

edited to say...

Seriously, it hurts to disappoint them, I know. Maybe you should just buy the thing, if money isn't an issue. I can just see my husband's face if this were my situation. His feelings would be hurt, I think.

He should just stay in the bed. Arena of his expertise.

I mean if you want mice killed, maybe calling an artist is not such a great idea.

toke - I thought the exact same thing.
Just buy it...
But then what about all the mice running to and fro.
I think I will tell him the bed part and he will recover the other insult.

Tell him I'll mail him my cat. Chico loves to crunch those mousey bones.

How about introducing him to a "stray" cat...and letting him save it's life? He could be a savior AND get rid of the mice. Your dog would probably be okay with a kitten...doesn't take long till they're mice-slaying cats...

I will think about the cat idea. I'll ask him. He is still sad from his last cat passed.
It has been 10 years.
See what a good heart.

Crunch bones? ... eew! But it's true ain't it?

What's worse is when your cat brings you their little bodies... I like mice, though. Live and let live...except in the kitchen...

They freak me out. They startle me. I don't like darting things.
Snakes okay - lizards stop my heart.

I have had run-ins with a couple mice in the garage and my neighbors would appreciate the shrieking cease.

I understand...I'm terrified of bugs. Totally irrational, but it doesn't change a thing...does it? Makes it damn hard to garden, let me tell you...

That is a lot of money just take care of a few rodents. However, with the onset of spring, mice usually leave the comfort of your home and move outdoors. If you feed your pet dry dog food and store it in
the garage, that will draw them in. They like it, the majority of its ingredients are grain, unless it is the high dollar stuff.

very modern Hi. They work.
Here in Oz we can sometimes be plagued with furry little visitors.
I have had one installed for eighteen months and have been critter free, while my neighbours can't get rid of them!
The ones we have are Australian made and I can't remember the name of them. I'll try and find the original paperwork today and post the information later on.
You can get them in different frequencies to suit the size of the critters you're trying to keep away.
By the way, the frequencies don't affect your pets.

Bob, Downunder but never down.

kc - yes dry dog food in the garage that is what brought them..
It is in a plastic container now. Good enough?

It is a lot of money.
He is desparate. I scream into the next state and told him to make them go away or else I was moving.

On QVC, they are called Riddex. You can get the larger one that covers 2,000 sq ft or the Riddex Jr that covers 1,000 sq ft. It plugs into any outlet and doesn't hurt anybody UNLESS you have rodent pets! They DO work and even help with the bug-type pests. I first got mine last year cuz we had spider & ant probs and it helped about 97%....But for rodents and vermin they are supposedly awesome!

The Taur is home LHAO at the gifs Al.

He read the thread and said "Okay.. so I will just buy one then..."

It is a 2 car garage.
We have the dog food in a plastic container but he is still finding them in traps after 2 weeks.

What to do then?

The plastic will work, However, metal is better. Your dog might start trying to knock off a few, mine did, when he figured out they were eating his food. So don't leave any food in the bowl overnight!
So are you still selling on Yahoo?
The lure category is slowly climbing again, this yahoo thing might work out yet.

Hardly selling anything anywhere kc.
Writing about 8 hours a day and put up the occasional item(s) - sell a couple things a week.
I am pretty burned out on it, just selling what is alredy on hand.
I have not bought for resale since January, will probably focus more on selling in the fall, but in a "going out" of business way.

I have to get my 2 cents into this thread, very funny really.
And I'm here to tell you plastic containers do not stop mice or rats from getting to the food, it's got to be a metal can.
At the farm, the rats, mice ate right thru the heavy plastic lid of a trash can...
And gads DO Not use a bait that they eat and go to die.
My dear hubby did that, and the darling rat went into a space between the doll room and the barn, and DIED, and the smell lived on for a LONG TIME.....
I had mice at the farm that ate right thru the wood wall in the kitchen to get to the dog food in a cabinet !!!!.
I could not believe the places those mice found to come into that old house...
Got up one nite to visit the bathroom, and a mouse jumped off the sink. The darn cat just sat there and watched....and I wasn't sure who I wanted to kill the mouse or the cat !!!!
Oh and Mice love peanutbutter also in traps, as much if not more than cheese.
I'm just full of info aren't I.

My husband last night.
".... well they worked in Dune.."

So my question now is if they *do* work, why don't they sell them somewhere (Home Depot?) that you can return them if they don't?

I was puzzling over why a problem at this house but not the other a half mile away and my husband said this house was more set up for "wild life".
Huh?
