I was commenting on the link to the "friendly ghosts".

Ah, so cynical ....

Keep on laughing ..... it chases away the blues!

BUT this thread is for real. It is happening ... and I do have an interest in the paranormal. If I could get over my fear to cross that line, I might try to communicate if it would help my niece.

By "up there" I meant to my niece's house.

Whether it be real or whatever - this is still a child who needs help.

FEAR, however, is a strong emotion.

Troll? Not me. Sorry.

Mrssantaclaus,
I have seen you as a regular poster and therefore apologize.
BUT fear is a cop out of an answer.
reread my posts. I would also suggest before you assume the "spirit world" touches her, and I am not one to judge, then give the kid a break. Don't sink to the jerry springer level. treat the child as though she has some intelligence.
She may rise to the challenge.
Best of luck

Well, mrssantaclaus, at the very least, how fortunate you are to have a textbook case on your hands. Poltergeist menacing a pubescent girl (one of the oldest cliches in the book), "cold spots," indentations in the bed ... Here's an idea, one of these nights, while your niece is sleeping and the room is unusually cold, open up her nightshirt to see if you can see "LOL" spelled out in raised flesh.

Thanks, Capriole.

I wasn't planning on ever taking this to a Jerry Springer level. I have way too much respect for everyone involved to do that. Actually, with my original post I was hoping to find the names of people who could advise me.

I plan on doing some research - and may actually try to speak with Lucy at some point in the future. If you have read my previous posts you will know that I am not one who takes things like this lightly. I am a well respected businesswoman in my town - running three very visible businesses besides eBay.

BUT I have also seen and heard things that others refuse to believe exist. My interest in the paranormal began when I was a child. Not from experiencing it - just wanting to know more.

Above all of this I have but one concern - the well being of my niece. That is what this is about. When a child asks you for help, then you should do your best to help them.

Thanks to all who are helping me.

MrsSanta: I believe you because I had a poltergeist experience as a teen. I wasn't making it up, nor had I been watching the X-Files. There were witnesses. So don't feel bad. Take this situation very seriously.

Regardless of what I may think about your story, mrssantaclaus, the names and information I gave you were legitimate. If there is any truth to your story, take it to the Warrens. They can help you, or put you in touch with someone who can.

If it makes you feel any better, the Warrens are the best in the business, but I have some doubts even about their stories ...

Actually, Spaz, the Warrens were the people I was looking for.

Thanks.

You might want to talk to the local parish priest about it. But then, maybe not. I think it probably can be explained away as "poltergeist" activity as others mentioned, but IMO I wouldn't fool around with trying to "communicate" with whatever it is. Okay, okay, so I'm usually pretty level headed, but hey! I was raised Catholic, and while I can be pretty cynical about a lot of things, that's one area I personally wouldn't want to mess with. The Church doesn't talk about it, but they do still perform exorcisms on occaision.(you have to go through some pretty rigorous channels first though).

I wonder if she can find me some more games .... that might get me over my fear!

The funny thing is, as scared as I would be I am almost intrigued enough to want to talk to her.

I am well aware, however, that the spirit may not be who they say they are. The name, as was said before .... could mean something else.

The Ghostbusters angle is a unique one ... but I think that's what the Warrens are. They appeared at the college here and made some really good points.

Earlier this evening I listed a CED of the movie THE AMITYVILLE HORROR.

After reading they synopsis on the back I am really thankful that Lucy is nice to Jill. It could be a whole lot worse.

I am very interested about how this all turns out for your family. I do believe that young children can be spirit mediums.

Over the years it has been recorded that young children have had imaginary friends. In some cases this has continued through puberty and into adulthood. A lot of these people that have experienced this sort of thing turn out to be extremely psychic.

Has your young niece ever experienced this sort of thing before? If Lucy is this friendly, could she be a guardian of some kind?

I did not reply to this when I first saw it, because to be honest it freaked me out. The night before you posted this thread, I woke up with a fright and could have sworn that someone was standing beside my bed. I was not terrified but I was more than a little unsettled. I sat up and grabbed my pillow (for protection), then I edged my way out of bed and went into my hallway to put the hall light on. Once I was sure that nothing was beside my bed I went back to bed. Once I was there (my husband slept through all of this), I could still feel something, but it was sort of a calm feeling and I ended up going back to sleep.

Now I do not know if I imagined all of this or not, I don't feel like it was imagined. It felt very real. My MIL has recently passed away and I can't tell you why, but I have the feeling it was her. Maybe she was letting me know that she was alright and at peace. I really don't know.

It was just more than a bit spooky when I saw your post the next day.

So whatever the outcome, I am most interested. Keep us posted please.

Nettak, chances are it was your MIL. My husband's grandmother died about a year ago. My oldest misses her terribly and was having alot of trouble dealing with it.

One night Gram came to her, brushed her bangs aside, kissed her and told her she loved her.

It made an amazing difference in Hayley. Love is very powerful.

I have had several other instances also where I feel she has protected my children, who she was very close to.

Thanks, Gram! We love you, too.

I love this stuff!! Can't get enough of it. I'm like Mulder, "I want to believe".

I would go do some research on the property itself. Was it always a trailer park at that site? Then maybe check to see if there was any deaths from lets say, 20 years at the park.Try to get as much info you can on Lucy before you try to make contact with her.

Ok rational side.....
You said on your first post that Jill told you she felt safe when she is at your house.
Is her home-life really OK? I know this is family and would not dream of problems like that and I'm not trying to say there is. Its just a thought, because that is a weird statement if you really think about it.

Hello Mrssantaclaus, I would really like to believe that my midnight visitor was my MIL. As a matter of fact I have myself convinced that it was indeed her.

Now that I have thought about it, I hope she comes back, because I was too startled the other night to do or say anything. If she is watching over us, that gives me a spooky but nice feeling.

Now on to what cyanide, mentioned about your little niece saying that she feels safe at your house, maybe there is something to be looked at. I don't want to sound overbearing, but these things can happen and I do know what I am talking about here. Sometimes children can not always tell you up front if there is a problem, they sometimes will only say or do the occassional little thing that may alert you to trouble.

If Lucy is a nice safe feeling spirit, she may very well be there to protect or help your niece from whatever is upsetting her. Just a thought, I may be way off base with this line of thinking. I certainly hope that I am way off base with my thoughts.

Good luck.

Netta
