Hepburn has only been here (with that ID) for a few weeks. They just don't remember The Wolfpack. There is no comparison to the group who posts here now.

ummm, by saying the site was "run by" trolls, that statement implies that the STAFF running the site were trolls, I am not discussing any prior set of posters here, either postively or negatively.
I am referring to twinsoft's statement that implied Mark, Diana and other AW staff at the time were trolls. Posters use a site but they don't run it, owners and staff run it.

Actually the sign up date doesn't mean anything if it is as mine is, because AW upgraded the software and everyone was reverted to that date at that time.
I wonder how long twinsoft could have been here to have experienced a time when there were no moderators? I know that I remember his arrival, and so would Bob if anyone could ask him.
In any case twinsoft's postings of such phrased comments as:
"Despite Mark's growing antagonism towards AW members", and:
too seriously to cater to arrogant, haughty attitudes such as AW has displayed in the past few months", and:
"merely promoting fluff for the sake of fattening their site for sale", and:
"When I first came to AW, this site was run by trolls, aka The Wolfpack. There were no moderators",
each seem little different than those posts which recently brought about the revocation of Hellcat's AW membership.
I think that in the interest of the fairness promised in descriptions of moderating practices to come, a good new beginning is at hand.

I have a question that I don't think I have seen asked.
When a person is suspended for life (and I know of several who have been), do their names disappear automatically from the membership lists? If not, why not? It's not like their name being on a list does anybody except AW any good.

Come to think of it, youre right, krs. Hellcats post was no different than the one twinsoft did. Only difference is she isnt here anymore, and he is.
Thanks for your words. It truly does feel like wilderness, and I'm getting rather tired of it. I have enjoyed the discussion here a great deal (on the whole), but utterly refuse to wear the AW "happy face".
With current policies, I reckon it will become rather insipid reading. I can't even post a "joke" website in the Round Table (dressing up Jesus) without it being deleted, and if I complain about not being able to discuss auctions I am told to clear off and stop moaning (without a murmur of "address the post" from the mod squad).
The line on what is acceptable now seems to be defined by how "happy" your face is, and although I will miss it (remember that fantastic thread on the "Van Gogh"? the AlienDistribution stuff?), I can do without the oppressive atmosphere.
There sure wouldn't be ANY discussion of those auctions under the current regime, and they (to me) were so much of the lifeblood of this board.

I'm cranky too, but mostly because I seem to be the only member who can't keep track of all the comings and goings.
Yes, I notice at the time when a member is thrown off, but my brain doesn't hold onto details. It's quite distressing, and can make me seem "thick of brain" to some.
Ah well...that doesn't change the fact that I don't like the changes going on here at AW. Do I agree with everyone? Of course not...but that doesn't mean I don't get a chuckle out of many members posts. I don't have to agree with someone to be able to appreciate good writing or an intelligent point of view, even if that point of view happens to differ from mine.

For the record I was not "complaining" I was simply expressing my opinion in a civil manner as to the reason the same-sex marriage was locked.
