I guess I shouldn't have said anything about being able to use post sale with eBay store items. Someone must not have wanted it to work, because I had a customer win an auction, buy an item from my eBay store, and buy an item from my Vendio store yesterday. Of course, since I was so happy that I could use Vendio to combine all of these, the eBay store item didn't show up in post sale.

I guess I have learned to keep my mouth shut! LOL

Kat: I think that the least Vendio can do for us at this point is to make the importing of eBay Store items impossible -- perhaps an option to import them or not. The collision with the eBay Store items and our Vendio Store and auction listings is making a real mess in the Sales Manager area as well as the inconsistencies you have pointed out.
I have held off on posting several hundred items in my eBay Store because of the horrendous traffic jam that will be created. I'll certainly not list them in the Vendio Store only because I prefer the double exposure in both Stores.

Sonya's response some time back to my long posting in this thread above included the following quotes:

"It would be erroneous to conclude that we will never support eBay Stores - they are on our list of things to do."
AND...
" The grand plan is to enable our customers to sell in any location they please - with all transactions integrated and monitored through one dashboard. We simply ask that you give us some time to put this together."

This means that eBay Stores WILL be supported and that Vendio WILL integrate eBay Stores with our Vendio Stores.
Time is the key element.
Time's a wastin' Vendio! Let's get it on.

That is a great point Lewis. If we can not have full functionality for E-bay Stores, and we are willing to re-list our auctions that do not sell into our E-Bay store, and do all of the manual work to straighten out the problems with the changed format, it would be nice if Vendio could take over from there. It does work sometimes, so it should be manageable to make it work at least for checkout purposes until full functionality can be attained.

I am a programmer myself, and I can tell these are top developers at Vendio. I admire their work, and what they have accomplished. Their task is huge, and they need a little more time, but I know they can accomplish it. It works sometimes, so there is hope that it could work all the time if the design was there.

Like you mentioned that Sonya said the E-Bay Stores are on their list of to-do items. It was also good to hear Kevin Wray at Vendio say "The grand plan is to enable our customers to sell in any location they please - with all transactions integrated and monitored through one dashboard."

That is exactly what is needed. One Dashboard to process all transaction. Brilliant Kevin!

I know what the problem is! The tech folks are working so hard on getting Vendio support for eBay Stores that glitch whizzed right past them.
We forgive them....

There is another glitch I have noticed with Vendio's management of E-bay stores items. Although the Vendio Sales Manager and also "Vendio Stores" import the E-bay Store Items, the information once entered is static. If I go to my E-bay Store item and change the price, it does not change in the Sales Manager. It also does not change in my Vendio Store. Anyone looking at the store item in Vendio Store is looking at the wrong price. I tried to delete the item from Sales Manager, and re-import it, and it still brings in the original price.

Hmmm.

The whole problem is that Vendio does not "manage" eBay Store items at all. They show up at odd times and clutter up all the other listings. Once in a while a closed (expired) eBay Store item will show up in Closed items and you can't do a thing with it. You can archive it but that's the last thing I want to do with it! If I go looking for an old item it is just a decoy! Bottom line:
Either support the eBay Stores or delete all possibility that they find their way onto the Vendio site! You all know what I would opt for...

One nore vote to get support for eBay stores as soon as possible. I have gone so far as to try the trials of your compeitors that do support eBay stores but the ones I've tried are lacking in basic areas (listing and image support) that Vendio is good in. I don't want to switch because I like Vendio but I need support for eBay Stores. I sell add-ons to my auctions in my stores and putting them in the stores without Vendio is a real pain. It is even more of a pain when a buyer buys an auction and an add-on and I have to explain why they can't use checkout for both. Vendio stores is not an option because people can buy add-ons from my store even if they don't win an auction. We need listing, image and especially inventory support for eBay Stores. Thanks.

Another vote for eBay Store support by magazineframes. Good.
You've discovered the real effort it takes to post the same item to an eBay Store and a Vendio Store. Wait 'til you have a buyer who wants the same unique item from both stores!
So much for the Grand Plan as stated by Sonya:
"The grand plan is to enable our customers to sell in any location they please - with all transactions integrated and monitored through one dashboard."

I'd like to add my vote for Vendio providing support for e-bay stores. I thought they did provide support until today when I opened an e-bay store and couldn't launch anything to the e-bay store from the Vendio site. I am so disappointed. I have over 100 listings already finished in my Vendio store and I thought it would be the perfect marriage of services to easily be able to double my exposure without a lot of extra effort. Please Vendio move e-bay store support way up on your list of priorities.

kbrown7556 -- Having eBay Store support would be, as you suggest, a perfect marriage of services from Vendio. The combo would be difficult to beat!
It would certainly allow Vendio to beat its own chest about the "dashboard" from which we can manage a clean and efficient sales campaign.
Hey! I'll bet this is the only 2 page thread going. Surely Vendio is noticing, but are they acting??

I also would love to see support for ebay stores. I don't intend on closing my vendio store but would just like the opportunity for even more exposure. I would especially like to see it happen for this fall when the selling gets strong for the holidays. Thanks

Well, if nothing else is happening we are keeping the thread at the top of the heap.
Surely the folks at Vendio are keeping tabs on this topic. It would be a great July 4th surprise for Vendio to launch the eBay Store support!
I know they are working hard on our behalf.

Just though I'd give you all a quick update:

We will support eBay stores by Fall '03. So hang in there, our team will be working on Stores support this summer.

Also, look for an announcement next week about our eBay Live activity. For those of you not attending the event in Orlando, we'll give you an overview of what we're going to unveil at the show.

Cheers,

Kevin

Kevin,

I commend you for giving us a rough time frame for supporting E-bay stores.

It makes planning that much easier.

I have been struggling trying to do E-Bay Stores and other types of E-Bay Sales using Vendio Tools and have been really frustrated.

At least now, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks Again!!!
