Remember what happened last time, Katy.
We're hopelessly hooked, Toke.

Not me, Toke.
Someone pointed out to me not long ago that at our age we've already had to give up too many addictions anyway. Surely, the few that we have left deserve some degree of preservation.

As long as it doesn't negatively affect our health, I think we'll be okay. And we're definitely not having as much fun as we were the other night, Antiquary. So we're probably safe for the moment!

I'll not be a smart elk or 'rupt tomorrow.
And you do the same.
See you later.

While we were messing...I forgot to tell you she died before I was born. Remember, she was my DH's grandma.
Tough though. One day, when he was young and full of himself, he was strutting along the street with his friends. He passed his grandma...and didn't speak. She just about had him for lunch. He never forgot his manners with his elders again. She probably would have scared me, as a kid...but I sure would have liked her... He loved her a lot. I've heard so much about her, it feels as if I knew her.

CBS news just reported that according to Chinese sources, the Chinese leader was originally planning to return the spy plane and crew immediately but that "tough talk" from our favorite President in the first few hours of the crisis made that impossible. The Chinese leader was taken aback by Bush's handling of the situation and was placed in a position of having to "up the ante" after Bush came on so strong.

Chinese sources? Do you think they might possibly have an agenda?
I think we need to remember what's important here. Our 24 sons and daughters...indefinitely detained. Let them all play politics...but not with our kids.

I wonder if in China "American sources are saying that the U.S. originally planned to be more 'conciliatory' but for the Chinese leadership now making that impossible by having a hissy fit".

I don't know about Chinese sources, but according to Conan O'Brien, the mid-air collision ocurred as a result of the Chinese pilot trying to slip a menu under the door of the American plane.

Yup, KatyD...
I do think we need to be wary of the Chinese using our own inner political turmoil to play us. It's a rather convenient scenario for them, if we're foolish enough to buy into it and allow them to shift our focus back onto our own dissatisfactions at home.
Our focus needs to be getting our people home. When that's accomplished...then we can get back to reviling one anothers politics.

China has taken a position, that will afford them the time to gather all the info pertaining to the surveillance equipment on the plane. They know the American government is not going to apologize for a incident they are not responsible for.
So with Mr.B at the helm, they have time on their side to completely go over that plane with a fine tooth comb. Once they are done, they will let the crew go! This might simple be a test, of MR.B's hand at international diplomacy.
