I just noticed as I was entering a customers info into the "Checkout" page using "edit" in PSM box #2(because they didn't use the feature at Paypal to have it entered automatically) that the words "Select Shipping Option" now shows as the 1st field in the Shipping menu drop-down box, rather than simply my shipping amount already showing as the 1st field, like it used to before. I know the shipping fee was done correctly in the auction prior to launch, so what's going on? I screwed up a few of these because I didn't notice I now had to select my shipping fee from the drop down menu. How tedious! Is this a glitch and/or can we change this?
Also, when I get payments from Paypal now, for the ones that don't use the automatic info entry to the WBN when paying at Paypal, in the email notification I get from Paypal, it says $00.00 for shipping & handling, but the total amount is correct, as if S&H were added in there somewhere, but the only amount showing in the email is the item amount. What is that all about? Used to be you couldn't even advance to the next screen when paying at Paypal unless you entered the shipping amount - is this connected in some weird way to the "select shipping method" change in the WBN? I DON'T want my customers to be able to select nothing in that box (like I could when filling it out for them) & not pay shipping & have tons of hassles all over the place.
Please advise.

Yes, I agree. This additional no shipping amount line at the top of the drop down in the checkout is extremely tedious. Is there a logical reason for doing this? It just adds another extra step for us when we go to click in the checkout page for customers who went directly to paypal. I also have had a few problems because I was running on automatic and did not notice the change. As Biffette asked, is there a way to change this?
I also see that we can apparently now add an additional amount to the invoice. This looks like it may be helpful.
But with both these changes, it would be helpful if an brief a announcement was made. Just a "heads up" to alert us to the chanages so that we don't make mistakes when working on auto-pilot. (Also might avoid a few dozen threads inquiring about the changes on the boards.)
Thanks,
Susan

I addressed this same problem in another thread. VD should definitely give us a courtesy announcement when changing routine daily business forms. Glad to hear I am not the only one that experienced these changes in the Customer's Checkout invoice.
I want to disable this feature and use my designated shipping preference.
Kind Regards

Hello,

I have checked various listings in all of your closed listing sections and do not see the 'select shipping option' in the drop down for shipping options.

Biffette -- what is the item number where this happened? Can you also send a copy of the instant payment notification where it displayed the shipping and handling as $00.00 to [email protected] so we may take a look at it as well?

Regards,

Sonya

VD has changed something and definitely does not want to address what they did, Just correct the problem and all our lives will go on. As sellers we have better things to do than to post at this board for problems we have no control over.
Kind Regards

Hello,

Nothing was changed about how Checkout is done. Are you clicking the Edit link in step 2, of the Fulfillment Checklist? That's the only place that 'Select Shipping Option' appears. Please click on 'Go to Buyer Checkout' and you will see that it doesn't appear there -- it starts off with your shipping preference and amount.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi there,

To be clear, buyer checkout has not changed at all, but seller's edit checkout did change as you've noticed. We made this change as part of another project. Because of your comments, however, we are re-evaluating this decision and will likely return seller's edit checkout to its previous behavior.

Regards,

Chuck

Hi all,

As of today, we have returned the seller's edit checkout page to its previous behavior. When you have only one shipping carrier offered, it will appear as the default and you will not have to select it.

FYI - We made another change in conjunction with this on the Fulfillment Checklist page. You will now see a note next to the "edit" checkout button saying "(no shipping carrier selected)" when you have received payment, no shipping carrier is selected, and there are multiple shipping options. Don't worry - we did NOT change Vendio checkout to allow this. This happens when a buyer bypasses Vendio checkout and you receive a PayPal IPN notice.

Yours,

Chuck
