Active Spiritual Seeker – Spiritual but turned off by organized religion

Count me among those disturbed that the quiz seemed geared toward Christian answers. Beliefnet is supposed to be a multi-denominational site.

Did you score a -10 on the quiz krs?

I do believe that's the first time I've seen you *giggle* krs

76.... almost a confident believer... the test was skewed, I am entirely sure that I have found the right path, but the best answer didn't always reflect that.

Guess I'll have to join the rest of the heathens... There were too many answers that just didn't apply to my way of thinking.

But, then I've always known I'm an odd sort.

Not paranoid anywhere else but here!

At least once I understand krs - He could picture the test takers comparing notes and giggling like a bunch of high school girls who had taken a Cosmopolitain test to see who is cool and who is OUT. A fair comparison as all these sorts of tests have a pretty strong agenda built in. Adults don't take them too seriously. Just Marketing people, high school administrators, and teeny-bopers.

I made a 23 but I think only because I thought I had to answer all the questions, otherwise I probably would have scored lower.
I'm thinking they didn't want to have to label anyone below 25 as "condemned atheist".

It seems that atheism is the worse thing a person can be. Worse than infidel, apparently.

When I went into the army during a series of initial procedures, I was sat down in front of a woman who's job it was to put personal information on forms for my record. She asked of my religious preference and I answered "atheist". She said "Oh! I CAN'T put that down!" and seemed somewhat upset. I said 'well, there it is' or something like that. When I received my dogtags they list me as "no preferenee". I've kind of enjoyed that mispelling ever since, as they still say that and I have thought that she must have been even more upset than I had thought to make such a spelling error on an official document. Might have cost her her job, for all I know.

No preferenee

... it fits you perfectly dear!

Did I ever tell you how cute you are when you gag krs? Warms the cold little cockles of my heart it does!

BTW I didn't even take the quiz so what does that make me?

warning.... warning... do not take me seriously today.... funny mood warning...

Looks like we have something in common krs. I had a preacher ask me in the supermarket check out line if I was going to heaven. He asked load enough for everyone to hear for sure.
I said the way I read the scriptures the spirit bears witness to you if you are going to heaven and asked if I had that right?
It sure does Son! He replied.
Well in all honesty the spirit has not spoken to me in that regard - so I figure if I keel over here and now I am going straight to hell.
Boy was he upset. "Oh no don't say that Son." He was saying - and I thought the cashier was going to have kittens.

Sure does upset people when you tell 'em the plain truth doesn't it?

The subject of religion comes up at a grocery checkout counter?

I remember a couple of years ago I attended the funeral of a teenage son of a co-worker. It was held in a Catholic church. About 80 of us from the office turned up. During the course of the ceremony I was quite surprised to discover that about 1/3 of my co-workers were Catholic. I had known many of these people for more than 20 years, and until that day I hadn't a clue if any of them followed any particular religion or not. The subject of religion just never came up.

You learn the most interesting things on these forums. Why it had never occured to me that some posters might believe that a casual internet quiz would reveal the ultimate truth about their spirituality and probably hauntingly follow them through the rest of their lives substituting for their own determination of truth in spiritual matters; why the quiz could even psychologically damage them and create a stigma which follows them throughout their lives, a sort of religious SAT. The harm in taking it could be irreparable and perhaps skewer the universal statistics on belief/ethical systems which we have all come to depend upon. It could well be a part of an inter-galactic conspiracy to prevent humans from achieving true anecedotal self-knowledge which would liberate them from the mortal constraints of time and space. What an epiphany. And it occurred right here in the RT.

Antiquary: You have NO IDEA how traumatic these tests can be. I still haven't recovered from my very low test score on the Weirdness test of last January:

http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=28&thread=54058&id=54058

So many posters revealed their weirdness, I was actually EMBARRASSED to post my score and reveal how utterly normal I was. Ever since that time, I have been trying to figure out how to become more weird, just so I can fit in here on the Round Table.
