I've used paypal for several months now. I don't know if it's paypal or yahoo's fault on this one matter. I don't give my credit card #s out and I had a bunch of charges on my credit card for things I'd never even heard of before. Yahoo and paypal were the only two places that had my credit card on file.
I've also had problems with paydirect. Around Christmas I made payment for an auction, it showed up on my credit card and in the records on my end and the seller never received the customary email to claim the money or have any mention show up in the records on his end. Yahoo refused to do anything about it. I feel really bad about it for the seller since I'm a seller too.
I spoke with someone online that lost several hundred dollars with paypal. Paypal just went into his bankaccount and wiped it out with no explanation. I thought the guy was bsing me, but now I'm not so sure about that.... I am thinking of just using checks and money orders now.

PAYAPL USUALLY ONLY CLEANS OUT OR FREEZES AN ACT THAT HAS QUESTIONABLE ACTIVITY. IT MAY BE THAT SOMEONE WHO STOLE A CARD PURCHASED ITEMS AND THE SELLAR HAD NO IDEA. BUT THAY LOSE THE $ ANYWAY. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT A CUSTOMER HAS REQUESTEDTHE ACT BE BLOCKED AS THEY PAID FOR ITEMS THEY NEVER REC. SELLARS WITH SEVERAL ITEMS THAT NEVER SHOWED UP WAKE UP ONE DAY AND FIND THEIR ACT CLEARED OF FUNDS PENDING FRAUD INVESTIGATIONS. DID YOU CHECKK TO MAKE SURE THE FUNDS WERE NOT SITTING ON YOUR END UNCLAIMED? IF I MAKE A SMALL TYPO ERROR IN PAYING SOME ONE THEY DO NOT REC THE ITEM AND YOU SHOW PAID. YOU CAN CANCEL THE PAYMENT AND REDO. YOU CAN ALSO FILE A PROTEST DIRECTLY WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. THEY WILL REVERSE THE CHARGE PENDING AN INVESTIGATION. GOOD LUCK.

I have alway used paypal and love it.. I think people show get themselves a on line credit card only.. the one i have you can only use it one line and all items can only be shipped to your home.. Items that are bought cannot be shipped to another place..If that is tried no sale!!! I like that idea because if a crook wants to charge I get the goods not them... and it has a limit to the spending..

Has anyone tried c2it.com? It is a p2p service that Citigroup/Citibank created in this space. These guys have the infrastructure to make sure fraud is kept to a minimum. I have used it and it works great! From what I understand and read in the press, they will be coming out with some killer functionality.

paypaldamon,
I don't trust the way you are trying to hush people up. It reminds me too much of Case's ladder. Perhaps you are sincere, but this is how I feel about it.
Best wishes,
Jess
p.s. I think it's Yahoo that was the cause of my particular problem. I've spoken to others who've had problems with paypal, but the most problem I've had is the site going down when I was trying to use it. Almost all of my customers pay me with check or money order anyway.

Hi auctionqueenie,
I am sorry you feel that way, but I am actually here to--
1. Make sure that outstanding customer concerns are resolved.
2. Make sure that customer concerns/suggestions are brought forward.
3. Make sure that policy items are clear and that there are no misinterpretations/misrepresentations of the these items.

paypaldamon,
I hope you're speaking the truth. I've been very bitter since my dealings with Cases ladder. I have trouble trusting anyone since that place.
Best wishes.

To all you sellers out there who are getting frustrated and abused by:
· Non-paying bidders
· paypal charge backs
· Bounced checks
· Fraud problems
· Negative feedback for no good reason (retaliation)
I found out the hard way that safe harbor and FBI don’t do a thing about it, and I signed up for a sitesentury.com, a security company that will do REAL investigations. Check out their site, I signed up for their service and I put their log on all my auctions and the bad guys will think twice before they mess with me!!!!!!! It is like having a security guard by my side protecting me!!! Which car do you thing the thieves like to break-in: one with alarm-on or one without??? That is what the log will do for you.
The investigator already got me some of the money I lost on bounced checks and the bank fee too!!!!!!
Do yourself a favor and check out sitesentry.com
