I bought a special occasion outfit for my daughter. The seller agreed to end the auction early, and ship the outfit overnight on Thursday. It's now Monday afternnon, and the package still isn't here.
I called Airborne on Friday. They first told me that there was no record of the package. Then they told me that it was scheduled for delivery on Monday. I told the rep I needed it on Saturday, and he said that he would try to get it there.
I called three times on Saturday, only to be told the package was not even in the state, and could not possibly be delivered before Monday.
On Monday morning, Airborne called me, and said that they had just spoken with the seller, and the package was scheduled for delivery on Monday. I told them I did not need it now, return it to the sender.
As soon as I got off the phone, I had an e-mail from the seller who said she would not refund my money due to buyer's remorse. Airborne had told her that they attempted to deliver the pacakge on Saturday but I refused to sign for it!
I called Airborne back, and the rep told me that they had never spoken with the seller!
I checked with the seller, and she gave me the name of the Airborne rep she had spoken with, the same person who called me!
We both called Airborne back, but they are still telling her that I refused the delivery, and telling me that she never has contacted them. We also found out that the package is still sitting in a terminal somewhere, that it has not even been put on a truck for delivery!
The seller did her part. She shipped the package, even if she pick the most worthless shipping company that has ever existed. I was stuck without an item that I paid for when i needed it, and really don't have any use for it now, presuming that Airborne ever gets around to actually delivering it.
Airborne say they are not responsible for "consequential damages" and will only refund the cost of the postage.
The best part? The seller and I only live 100 miles apart.
