I heard the other day that PayPal has filed for an IPO!!!

I had a problem with PP quite some time ago with a E-bay seller not shipping merch. After 6 months I finally got my $472.00 back. They gave me the run around, too. Don't forget to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Department of Consumer Affairs, I even wrote my state Legislator. The BBB actually followed up on my claim. The process was awful.

Hi cargie,

I am sorry to hear of your issues with the seller, but please realize that PayPal can't be responsible for items listed at another venue. We also can't guarantee that a party is going to act a specific way, as these are individual actions.

Our Buyer Complaint process generally takes 30 days. Why did it take so long to get the money back? It also does not guarantee recovery of funds from a seller.

Cargie,

They (well, the company representing them going public) actually called me and mentioned the offering of stock (I have a Business account on Paypal and have over 900 regular customers paying through them).

When they called a month ago I was considering purchasing stock in the company. Now that I'm going through a similar experience to yours, I'm trying to switch to Yahoo Paydirect and tell most of my buyers to use money orders. They're not going to make it with all the baloney they're putting the customers through.

There's no doubt that I won't invest in the company, because I've experienced their attitude towards honest customers firsthand. The reason that they held onto your $472 for so long is because they wanted to use it for their own investments.

I'm in a situation where I've sent proof (multiple times) that a seller has already relisted an item on ebay (wouldn't email/recontact me after giving intial pay-to info) and is trying to make another $511.99 on a guitar that was sold to me nearly a month ago. It's obvious that I'll never receive the instrument since it was relisted only a week after I won it, but the "investigation" team at Paypal could give a *uck. I've called 3 times and was told each time that they would contact me ASAP. Sure they will. They would like to hold my cash as long as possible. I laugh at the 30 days quote they sent me. Yea, I'll see it in 30, sure.

This company is doomed to fail, but in the meantime, they'll suck thousands of dollars in fees from you and me (about $4G from me this last year), and be smug when it's all over. Get away from Paypal while you still can. I've certainly lost confidence in them as a viable business partner.

Hi Kodocha,

I am sorry to hear of the issues you are having with this seller. We, as a payment service, can't control what someone lists at another venue, nor can we guarantee that they will send the merchandise. Our Buyer Complaint Process is in place to potentially recover funds on your behalf, but there is no guarantee.

This issue is caused by the seller, not by PayPal. Can you please advise how another payment service would guarantee delivery of the merchandise?

Hmmm. Canned response. Typical. And some would wonder why I just popped for 500 shares of MSFT instead of waiting for Paypal stock.

Who cares about delivery of the merchandise?
I just want my $531.99 back. If a transaction has been reversed by Paypal (as in my case) and the seller has not answered Paypal as to what the situation is, _and_ has relisted the item, it shouldn't take more than the tiniest bit of brains to ascertain that the buyer is due the refund ASAP. Obviously the seller doesn't want the money, they're busy selling the item again - why hang on to the buyers cash? One reason - Paypal can use it as investment while sending canned responses and autoresponse emails until the buyer's so fed up do business elsewhere.

Yahoo Pay-Direct (no fees!), the only way to transfer cash on the Internet. God, I hope they go public, I'm ready to buy.

yahoo will be speaking this afternoon on their brave new plan on offering internet access with sbc (which means no more freebies for yahoo members who are checking emails etc free),layoff staff and other ventures.
stay tuned ,if it is free now, will it be free tomorrow?

Hi Kodocha,

No payment service will guarantee that the item will be delivered by a seller. It is an item the payment service would have no control over, just as a sending a check or money order would not guarantee delivery of a product by an individual.

Wow! It must be easy to throw canned auto-responses at all the messages posted here. As if I had any question about the dribble you posted as a reply.

As I said: Who cares if it's delivered now? Paypal pulled the money from the SELLERS account and is holding on to it. The seller NO LONGER HAS THOSE FUNDS. The money belongs to me, the buyer. The seller is completely OUT of the picture. He doesn't have my money, Paypal does. Duh.

Are all people connected to Paypal complete imbeciles or just trying to act that way?

Screw this, I'll tie up their 800 lines and just make the operators keep filing reports. I'm kind of bored today anyway.

Hi kodocha,

There are hate sites about a lot of companies out there. Type a company name in and you will find them.

All legitimate customer issues can be resolved. Some of the posters in those forums have been engaged in suspect activity (pyramid schemes, etc).

Well folks, Paypal just resolved my case. They gave me back a whopping $40.48 out of $531.99.

Awesome going Paypal! What do you think of that, PayPalDemon?

Gosh, it happened within hours of me posting to this board. I wonder who took care of that for me? How *ucking obvious. Now I have to get all pissy and keep posting everywhere about how Paypal sucks and will *uck you aat every turn.

Are you guys so stupid that you would screw over one of your best customers that quick?

Everyone look for my new anti-paypal page coming soon. It'll probably be www.antipaypal.com

Don't listen to this Damon/Demon guy either, he's just here to use your info to screw you in the end. I like his lame canned responses though. What a joke this guy is.
