I have been reading these posts for months now, trying to decide what other forms of payment to accept (right now I only list checks and MO in my auctions). Based on what I've seen, Paypal is NOT something I would use. I've accepted Bidpay money orders, but it's expense to the Buyer so I've only used it at the Buyers request. Is there any service out there that AW users have been happy with?

I guess I should add that I am not a merchant. Ebay is a hobby and I sell for
friends and family, as well as getting a few dollars for things I no longer have need for.
Many of my items are low price items. I am mainly looking for some way to streamline the
process and make buyers happy by providing a
easy payment option.

billpoint is like paypal, billpoint is owned by ebay.
your buyers can check out with billpoint.
if you sell low priced items, paypal is a good alternative to money order or check.
i have been accepting paypal for 2 years,i dont have a problem.
most sellers who do not sell a lot and sell low priced items -their complaints with paypal usualy have to do with the fee.
but since you dont need the money to buy grocery or pay rent, you can try either billpoint or paypal, there is also c2it.

You have to realize that you are looking at a very tiny microcosm of users, and generally only those who have had a negative experience about which they are looking for advice, similar experiences, and ideas for resolution.
We run a full-time business and use PayPal and BidPay only as our source of credit card payment, and we have never had a single problem with either one, with over 1000 unique buyers on PayPal alone last year.
I keep my eyes on the problems that people post about, and realize that these issues are very real and very troubling for those who have experienced them, but I would not consider giving up that part of our customer service options since I know that it is often the sole criteria bidders have when shopping the auctions.
For myself personally, I rarely bid on auctions that require mailed payment anymore, and am more inclined toward PayPal vendors than any others.
Just thought I'd pipe in; I'm not trying to diminish anyone's negative experiences with PayPal; only trying to remind prospective PayPal sellers that what is posted on discussion boards tends to make things look much much worse than they are on the whole.
