Hi Damon,
My account was restriced over one week ago. There was no fraud/refunds/complaints and I have no idea what legit reason PayPal could have for freezing my money.
One week ago I faxed in all the info that was requested and even gave extra documents to prove my name and address, etc.
The problem seems to be that your customer service robots keep telling me that I need to add and confirm a bank account.
Well here is PROOF that I already have a bank account registered and confirmed. Below is the exact text from a notice from PayPal.
Read it and see how bullet 1 and 2 completely contradict each other!!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
1. Add and Confirm a Bank Account
2. After you have completed the step above, fax a copy of your driver's license or valid ID, a copy of a current bank account statement (for the registered bank account with the last four digits (snip)) or a current credit card statement (for the registered credit card with the last four digits (snip)), and a copy of a utility or phone bill with the fax cover sheet that is provided here. As always, any personally identifying information that you submit to PayPal will remain secure and will never be transmitted to any third party.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Well, I did this a coupld of weeks ago so I do not understand why you need me to do it again. I have called 2 times and told the customer service people about this and they say it is a mistake on their part.
I need to have my account unrestricted TODAY.
I need to have the money to pay off the rest of my car that am to buy in a few days.
my paypal id is [email protected]
my fax id is:
Fax ID: 79R15968LA859962D

You might get your account unrestricted today. But you might not. Just warning you, as they have shown many times in the past, PayPal doesn't care about they're user's time constraints, dates where money is due for bills, reasons for wanting their money, etc. Even if media or legal action is threatened they still sometimes won't act right away, if at all.
If you absolutely need the money right away, and PayPal refuses to act on unrestricting your account, and your buyers paid by credit cards, I would advise your users to immediately charge back any and all transactions that compose the 7000 dollar balance you have now and have them pay by other means (or at least for the transactions you didn't ship yet). PayPal will charge you 10 dollars per chargeback, but if all the 7000 dollar balance were for credit card payments and they all get charged back, the 10 dollar fees per chargeback will put your PayPal balance in the negative, which they can't make you pay back (unless you registered after October last year).
Of course, wait until the last possible moment before doing this. It will save you a lot of hassle. But, if they refuse to refund your money and you absolutely need it soon there aren't really that many other options, if any.

hi Stop Whining,
All the funds in the account are from a few people. They are people I trust and if PayPal does not want to unrestrict the account then they can just give the money back to the people who paid in. I have no problem with that.
These people will pay me by check if that happens.

Hi JJD333,
Your issue was referred to account management. I also advised you as to what is causing the account restriction. The account management team did advise me that an email was sent advising on the issue.

JJD333,
Its a good thing that you trust all the people who put money into your account. They will probably have to do chargebacks in order for you to ever see your money again. At least you will get your money back from these people. PrayPal acts as if the money belongs to them. Its a joke.

dealerjim,
by now you are a paypal expert, read paypal damon's message-there is a reason for restriction and the author has been informed.
there is no need to broadcast reason on this board.
we will only know if the author cares to share with us.

I don't believe anything Damon says. He has been caught in so many lies and misleading comments, its kind of hard to put any faith into anything he says. He is strictly damage control for PrayPal, nothing else.

Stopwhining, the author already explained the reason his account is restricted in the other thread he posted in the PayPal section of these boards.
