I've been getting a lot of unwanted Pop-Up Windows. I picked this particular fourm becaue I believe it's a fraud. A company called "No Pop" keeps putting Pop Ups on my computer. Some of the Pop Ups advertise this "No Pop" Company. If I buy their software, I will no longer get Pop Up windows.

Does anybody have a solution. Thanks.

have you downloaded anything from the internet lately? Or installed any new software? It sounds like it might be on your computer?

Whatever you downloaded and installed might be causing the problem. If this is true, Do NOT just deleted it! As it might only get rid of part of the software and not your unwanted pop up problem. If you have windows 95, 98 or ME you can click on "My Computer" then click on "Control Panel" Click on "Add Remove Programs" Find whatever you last installed and Click on it to highlight it. click on Remove and that (Hopefully) will fix your problem

I recently had that problem and I have no clue what was installed to cause it. My wife might've done it while I'm here at work. The "Add/Remove Programs" doesn't always list new things. It only shows programs that provided an uninstall.

You can go to www.ad-aware.com and download the program. That thing is awesome at hunting down spam programs. It digs all in the system to find them. If you accidentally mangle a valid program, just re-install it. At least you'll know you got rid of the culprit.

Also, to stop "legitimate" pop-ups, such as from excite.com, I highly recommend Panicware's Pop-Up Stopper Companion. It integrates into MSIE and has more options than just pop-up stopping. I'll be posting a review about it on my site soon (I have the Pro version). You can learn more, and obtain the free or Pro version, at www.panicware.com .

I came across a great program called ad aware. It is free and what it does is look for cookies and small programs that have been put on your computer. The first time I ran it I was shocked. It must have found 20 differnt programs that where doing everything from pop ups to actualy using my cpu cycles for some one elses desires. I really notice an increase in my performance. I now run it twice a week and sure enough it catchs and eliminate one or two items. Good luck
