I always thought John Deere and Cub Cadet were expensive but good quality tractors. I bought a STX (now LX) and have just used it on a 1 arce yard. It has been nothing but trouble and has been in the shop 3 times so far for problems. I have been told that they really should not put their name on these models because of the poor quality. I only had the tractor for less than 3 years and am probably going to sell it. If anyone has any comments on this or what tractor to buy I would be thankful. I'm need a 14-18HP tractor to cut the yard and haul stuff. I'll probably get a Cub Cadet. My dad has one from 1971 and still going strong!
