Moderator: Could you take a look at my saved Vendio templates list, please? I've been changing titles and editing the templates I have saved. However, at the top of my templates list, there are 7 fairly new templates I cannot delete, and 3 numbered templates (sample templates) I can't delete. Please tell me how to get them out of there.

Hello Roadsmith,

Ugh...this is a very common request, but unfortunately at this time there is no way to remove those templates. I will be happy to pass your message along to our product development team for evaluation. We are in the process of compiling customer feedback on all services, so your suggestion will be seen by one of our product managers.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions or comments.

Regards,

Ed

Thanks, Ed, for passing this along. This glitch may seem minor, but it's really important! It reflects negatively on the product-offerings of Vendio. I'm in the process of helping a friend decide whether to list through Vendio, and I'll have to show him in advance the problems with the templates.

For a company which many of us adore, this is a strange and seemingly simple problem to address. I hope it's taken seriously.

Either eliminate all those templates you offer, or make it easier for us to narrow them down without having to search for the one we want in a particular listing.

We can't even alphabetize them, or move them around on the list for easier access!

Chiming in that I would love to be able to organize my templates in a listing format that works for me. It would be great if the template listing could be reworked so that we could move them up and down the list.
It would be so much easier if I could group seasonal templates or certain color schemes together.
Heck, then I might even vary from my basic template more often!

Thanks,
Susan

From the viewpoint of any customer, anywhere, I'd think a company wouldn't want a product which causes vexation every time it's used! The templates problem is just an irritant whenever I'm listing auctions.

Thanks, Susan, for chiming in. I'm sure you and I are not alone in this! ~Adele

I suspect there are many many Vendio users who just use one template for every auction--so this wouldn't be a problem for them.

For those of us who want to use holiday themes, and different colors and "feels" for the various collectibles we sell, there's a need for a good list to choose from.

Roadsmith,
I agree 100%. My list of templates is getting large and it is too frustrating to go through them each time.

I also only discovered a while ago that say for example:-
Listing #1. I decide to use Regency Wallpaper template. I make some changes to reflect the item I am listing. Launch the listing
Listing #2 The next day I decide that I need the general feel of Regency Wallpaper but my item needs a few adjustments to the template.

I did not realise that this will change listing #1 also as well as any others I may have used Regency Wallpaper on.

Nuisance...

I did the same thing, otteropp, yesterday! I decided to edit the templates on my list that had numbers in front of them, to take out those numbers. Then I noticed that some of my pending auctions have NO template, since I renamed those numbered templates and deleted the old ones. Duhhh.

Yep..this means that unless a person lists always the exact same items (and it seems that you & I do not) then we have to use a different template for every listing and make sure first that we have not used a particular template anywhere on our current listings or in our Store listings.

It is getting very unweildy ( is that a word??)

One way to organize your templates is to decide what order you want them to appear in. Then open them up in Template WOrkshop and save them (if you make any changes, rename them with a similar name to the old one like "xmas2" if you modify your "xmas" template - this will keep the original xmas and give you the modified template). As you save the templates, the most recently saved one will appear just below all the Vendio ones. So if you plan your changes, the ones you want to be on top of your list will be those you work on LAST .

I use just a few templates, I change templates when I want the pictures displayed differently or to change fonts or borders. I use Profiles to get specific text inserted for similar items. I have over a hundred different profiles. You can specify a specific template to use for each profile. for me, profiles are easier to manage than templates.

Interesting suggestions...thank you.
When I have a couple of spare hours I will play with the ideas.

Great ideas here! I use profiles to change and customize the templates that I use. Would it be possible to widen the profile window a tad? So, that we could see more of the title when selecting? I am continously "guessing" at the template that I'm choosing. When I "guess" wrong, I have to go to step one and "guess" on the next one.

I would like the option to delete templates as well. Seems I have about 20 that I never use so why have them there.

Sometime in the past have also made the same request as mstwostepin about being able to see the entire title on the Profile drop down.

I constantly find that I also have to guess which profile template I am choosing since I cannot see the entire title.
Lately I have taken to "mis-titling" my profiles in some way and then retitling them when listing in order to get the right template.
Slightly self defeating.

It does seem that widening that field would be a simple change to make.

Thanks,
Susan
