In the Vendio notice which appears on virtually all pages, it is noted that - "We will be automatically mapping your current selected International USPS shipping options to the new methods when they change..."

This is great. What currently selected option will be changed for First Class International to Canada? Canada is International 1st Class Zone 1, whose rates are different than Zones 2-5. Zones 3-5 cover the rest of the civilized world with similar rates in their zones.

I have to begin listing the hundreds of new items that I have been holding back. In what order should I list Canada rates, Zones 3-5 rates, and Worldwide Priority Mail rates,so that they are mapped accordingly? Thanks in advance.

Hello Bill,

While the types of international USPS options are being renamed and realigned, my understanding is that the Canada shipping options will keep the same name. So there should be no reason to map your Canada shipping option to a new name. The rates will automatically be adjusted in the case of calculated shipping, but there should be no reason to change the name of the shipping type itself.

The order that you list your shipping options should not make a difference in the mapping of them.

These are the mapping changes that we will automatically make:

1. Global Express Guaranteed Document and Non-Document will be collapsed into one method entitled Global Express Guaranteed.
2. Global Express mail will remain unchanged.
3. Global Priority Mail, Airmail Parcel Post and Economy Parcel Post will be collapsed into Priority Mail International.
4. Airmail Letter Post and Economy Letter Post will be collapsed into First-Class Mail International.

Regards,
Nathan

As before, the 1st Class Mail International rate to Canada is Zone 1, which is less than Zones 3-5, which are the rates to other countries.

For example, the 3oz rate to Canada will be $1.31, while the 3oz rate to S. America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and other countries in Zones 3-5 will be $2.70. How am I to distinguish between the rates?

This is the problem which exists now. I was hoping that it would be corrected when the USPS increase became effective.

I have a suggestion. Perhaps in International Shipping a 1st Class Mail Canada selection could be created which links directly to the corresponding ebay field. Since there are three open International shipping fields at ebay, there would still be two remaining for other Worldwide Zones and International Priority Mail.

Otherwise, I am left with manually revising at ebay. Something I have been doing, and I had hoped to avoid after May 14th.

Apparently not very many Vendio customers desire such specificity, or even sell Internationally.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. In the meantime, I will begin listing the items and put them into my store at Vendio. I know the new rates, and will use them for the new listings.

I updated my template. Revised the item descriptions and revised the domestic and international shipping costs. I used the fixed fields for flat rate domestic shipping values, and the blank fields for the flat rate international shipping values.

ebay picked up the first blank international field and used that amount for the international shipping cost to all points of the world. Or, Vendio supplied the value to ebay. Either way, in many cases it is the wrong value.

If I place the Canada rate in the first blank field, it is too low for worldwide shipping costs. If I place the higher worldwide rate in the first blank field, it is too high for Canada shipping.

The ebay items are #s: 300104570070, 300104587807, 300104591341, 300104598592. Check out the values for Canada, both at the top of the page and in the ebay "Shipping & Handling" section.

Please help with this problem. Am I doing somthing wrong? Is there a field, or a check that I must complete for this to work right?

I'm thinking that I might have to place a one line statement into my item descriptions, stating that any discrepancies between shipping costs in my description, and ebay's shipping fields are the result of Vendio's inability to provide correct information to ebay.

That way the Vendio brand can share in the confusion and embarrassment created by this problem.

Thanks for all your help in this matter.

Would I have the same problem if I used SMIE, or SMPro?

Thanks for all your help.

I have an item stuck in Pending with the following error message -

"Error 10019: Inconsistent shipping parameters.
ShippingService is required if Insurance, SalesTax, or AutoPay is specified."

This most likely comes about because - (1) I unchecked the " I am specifying shipping costs for eBay checkout (required for eBay Express and PayPal Immediate Payments)", and (2) it appears that I have to uncheck the Sales Tax "use for ebay checkout" Which I can't do.

My thoughts behind all of this is that there will be no shipping listed on ebay, and only the amounts in my description will show and be automatically computed at Vendio redirect checkout. Am I right?

I almost forgot to ask. The only changes will be the loss of ebay Express and PayPal Immediate Payments. Correct?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Bill,

Sorry for the delayed reply! We do understand the problem with the shipping displays, and I have passed your message along to the product manager. Hopefully we will have a solution for you soon. I do not have an eta at this time. There would be this same problem with SMIE or SM Pro.

I was unable to locate any errored listings in your pending listings section at this point. What is the title of one of the pending listings where you are having this problem? If you don't specify shipping costs for eBay checkout, then that is correct. The shipping costs will only appear within your description and at the time that your buyers checkout through Vendio checkout.

Nathan

Hello Nathan,

I deleted the pending listing. That is why you were unable to locate it.

I just listed a new item to my store at ebay. I did not specify shipping costs for ebay checkout. That way I was able to specify the three different international fixed costs, without a problem. Its not what I really want, however it is a workable compromise at this time.

The only changes will be that shipping costs do not appear in any ebay area, and the loss of ebay Express and PayPal Immediate Payments. Is that correct?

Hello Bill,

That is correct. Also, the shipping information will not appear when a search is done on eBay.

Nathan
