I have a situation where my Australian customers sees complete different shipping charges than me. Item #260125828034

In Vendio I have the following setup:
Ship Worldwide
US Shipping $29
International shipping (Canada) $39

I do not mention specifically Australia anywhere and bellow is a copy of what he sees

Jun-08-07 17:33:48 PDT
Shipping costs:
To Australia -- US $39.00 (discount available)
Other Int'l Shipping (see description)
Service to Australia
(more services)
Ships to: Worldwide

Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,

At this time, when using the blank "Other" boxes for your shipping carriers, it is not possible to have the shipping only match up to specific countries. In order to have a shipping option that only matches up to Canada, you would need to select one of the Canada shipping options from one of the drop-down boxes in your international shipping section.

Also note that you currently have "Worldwide" selected as the "Ship-To Locations". If you only ship to Canada and the US, then you should deselect "Worldwide" and select only "Canada" in this section. That should also correct this problem for you.

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan,
Thanks for the explanation. I will change Canadian shipping using pull down menus.

I'm just curious why Australian customers see "shipping to Australia"? What about all other international customers? Do they see their own countries in this kind of setup?

Thanks,
Jack

Hello Jack,

this is because you specified 'shipping worldwide'. Ideally, if you want your items to be available worldwide, you should add specific shipping charges for different regions. If you specify a generic international shipping charge, then the customer is allowed to choose whatever suits him (like 'international shipping for Canada' even if the customer does not reside in Canada). Using international calculated shipping will certainly avoid such problems.
