Hi, I am gettine the following error message:
Error 353: Java script not allowed.
Your listing cannot contain javascript (".cookie", "cookie(", "replace(", IFRAME, META, or includes), cookies or base href.

It seems to coincide with the new PayPal logo that I entered on my items yesterday.

Could you tell me is this is an ebay error or a vendio error?

Thanks

P.S. I am relisting them with the old PayPal logo, but I do need to know if it's a vendio problem.
Thanks

Hello,

Did you get the new HTML code for the PayPal logo directly from PayPal, and if so, was it specified as being the one to use for eBay?

They usually offer a few different sets of code, some that wouldn't work on eBay because of certain tags in the HTML and others that will.

Regards,
Christopher

Hi Christopher, I copied and pasted it directly from the PayPal web site.
They had sent out e-mails to their customers regarding the new logo and had advised us to change as soon as possible.
The only options were different views of their logo and the credit card logos.
They are planning to do a global change at the end of this month, however they wanted their customers to change before then.
I hope this is helpful.
I tried to e-mail PayPal last night but their e-mail was not responding.
I hope this is helpful.
Thanks, Regards

Hello,

If you have that email, you can forward us a copy of it ([email protected]) - or let us know where you have this HTML code stored so we can check to see if any of the eBay offending tags really are included.

In short, that error message will never appear due to a Vendio error. eBay scans the item description for certain words and if they appear, they will not accept the ad. Even if the specific word they do not want to allow isn't being used in the way they want to avoid, the listing will not post. That being said, we'd be happy to verify this for you.

Regards,
Christopher

Hi Christopher, I have been able to contact PayPal.
It seems that in order to use the new logos in their auctions or stores, some PayPal customers will have to update their Ebay screen name information, even though payments have been flowing through the two systems without a problem using their old logo.
You do not have to change your screen name, just remove it and re-add it through the PayPal web site.
I hope this information will be helpful to anyone else that may have this problem going forward.
Regards

Hi Christopher, well I am sorry to say that after doing everything PayPal said to do, it still doesn't work.
As far as the items that had a problem, they were 14 of them that failed, so it is not just a word or a phrase.
After I went back to the old PayPal logo, all 14 listed without any problems or error messages.
I will be contacting PayPal again to inform them that the problem still exists.
I will be happy to send you an e-mail with the new PayPal logo in html format.
If you would like me to do that please let me know.
I am worried that going forward this may pose a problem for other users.
Regards

Hello,

From the email and the notice on the PayPal site about the logo's, they are not meant for eBay specifically.

The only logo's that PayPal provides that are designed specifically to be allowed in eBay listings are still stored at the following URL:
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_auction-manual

The new logo's are for users websites and storefront's where they have manually listed the logo's for PayPal as an accepted method. The logo's for auctions remain the same.

Just to be certain I even took this code directly to eBay, and they reject it from their end as well.

Regards,
Christopher
