What's up?? I can't seem to get my auctions launched - I get this error:
Internal Database Failure. The auction data could not be retrieved from the database for Vendio ID 01awch00000000000969984160XX.

02/09/2008 06:00:00 PM US-Pacific Time Zone

I changed my email address today at Ebay AND Vendio - I renewed the token at that time. Could that be the problem.

Hello,

Are these new listings or relists? If they are relists, please let me know one of the listing numbers that you are trying to relist. Also, are you getting this error for all listings, or only some of them?

Regards,
Nathan

Now it looks like they are launching. Heads up to others who may have scheduled items to go off tonight - check your pending items.

They were new lists and they all launched on the second try. Was this because of the email change or a temp communication glitch with ebay and vendio?

There were 5 of them. Here is one of the newly listed items:
PEI PEI GIANT PANDA ST LOUIS MO ZOO POSTCARD 1948 Auction Format $7.99 160207252765

Hello,

We had reports of a similar problem here:

http://www.vendio.com/mesg/read.html?num=15&thread=103458

Our engineers were unable to duplicate the problem, and until now there were no additional reports of this problem. I will let them know that you are also having this problem, and ask them to take a look. In the meantime, to work around the problem, please relaunch the failed listings and they should go through without a problem on the second launch. I do apologize for this. Thank you for your patience.

If anyone else is also having this problem, please let us know.

Regards,
Nathan

Edited to add: Also, if the problem goes away (or if it comes and goes), please let us know that as well.

Thanks Nathan. I won't keep reporting all the errors then. I'd like to list a lot tonight. I will keep an eye on pending and then relaunch from there. Glad to know it has nothing to do with the email address change. I thought maybe I forgot to change it somewhere.

I posted about the problem on the EO board so others can report if they are having the same problem.

I just launched another one, returned instantly with an error. I looked at the Custom Item Specifics and they were wiped out! I filled them out again and the launch failed again instantly! I launched without filling them in and launch was successful. The problem must be with the CIS!

Ok - here's the deal. When I list I complete the listing form and launch (I don't save or do an Ebay preview). I just tried another listing and this time I SAVED the listing (with CIS completed) and then went to Pending to launch it. The CIS were gone - but the item launched on the first try.

I just did another - this time I tried to save the "Ebay Preview" - it errored out! So I returned to the listing using my Firefox back arrow - Item Specifics were still there. I "saved" the item (at that bottom of the form) and went to Pending and there were two of the listing there. Neither one of them had item specifics filled out. I launched one and deleted the other.

UPDATE: I listed another one WITHOUT CIS filled in and it launched the first time. This is last post tonight. I am not going to fill out CIS until this is fixed!

Hello,

Thank you for the information. I do understand the problem, but I have still been unable to reproduce it. Please let me know the following information for any listing that had this problem:

1. The category (or categories) that you were listing in. Either the category number or the category tree should work.
2. The exact CIS information that you entered into the listing.

That will likely be all of the information that I need in order to duplicate. However, if you are able to leave one of the errored listings in your account (and also provide the above information for it), then that would also be helpful.

Thank you for your patience and assistance.

Regards,
Nathan

I just tried to launch one. It is in category 20203 (all of the listings yesterday were in postcard categories). The Item Specifics I used were the ones suggested on the form and I used the drop down to choose default (defaults appear in green print - if I put something else in there they appear in red print but previously have not caused problems unless I exceed the maximum number of characters allowed)
Location: Florida
Theme: Us state and city views
Product: Postcard
I added the following in the "Custom Fields"
Type: Chrome
Size: standard

The item that was returned for errors this am is: BIRD'S EYE VIEW DELRAY BEACH FLORIDA FL POSTCARD. I left it in pending for you.

Thanks Natham!

Hello,

I added the CIS information to your "BIRD'S EYE VIEW DELRAY BEACH FLORIDA FL POSTCARD" listing. I previewed it, and the CIS information was still there. I saved it, and the CIS information is still there.

I created a new listing in my account with the category and CIS information that you provided, and launched the listing. The listing launched without error.

Can you confirm that this is still a problem currently? If you select the "BIRD'S EYE VIEW DELRAY BEACH FLORIDA FL POSTCARD" listing on your computer, and preview and/or save the listing, is the CIS information still being removed (if so, what browser and version are you using)? Also, please confirm that this is a completely new listing (rather than a relist or a copy of an old listing).

Regards,
Nathan

The CIS are still there now. Should I try to launch and see what happens? I can end the listing (because it will be a duplicate) if it works I guess. I will try another listing until I hear from you.

I am using Firefoc version 2.0.0.12 (it just did an update yesterday ... hmmm do you think that is it?)

Hello,

I don't think Firefox is the problem (I am also on Firefox 2.0.0.12 and updated mine yesterday morning). I did want to confirm that we were using the same browser, though.

That would be great if you could try launching the listing. Also, if you could confirm it is still happening for new listings.

Regards,
Nathan

I just tried to launch another: ANTIQUE ST PATRICK'S DAY POSTCARD MAN IN GREEN 1913. It is errored out in pending. When I click on it to look at it, the CIS are gone.

Listed in category 156342 (st patrick's day)
There were no suggested CIS so I added the following:
Theme: St Patrick's Day
Type: Embossed
Period: 1913

I will leave it in Pending.

Nathan - did you say you did launch Delray Beach earlier? It is not listed in my store. The one I just launched is item 160207472667, listed at 11:49 am.

Oh I didn't read that you launched in YOUR account. Ok So I only have one listed then Whew.

Could it be the WAY I list?

Here's how I do it ...
I have all these saved INVENTORY PROFILES (over 100 I guess). When I list I go to create a listing and choose the proper profile in the drop down and move to Page 2. I change the particulars (title, description ) attach an image - do item specifics and launch.

Is the version of the listing form I am using out of date or something?

I did try to save an Inventory Item with CSI completed for one of my inventory items last week but the CSI did not save

Hello,

That definitely might be part of the problem. Unfortunately, I still was unable to duplicate the problem using inventory profiles. However, I think we have enough information for our engineers at this point. If they need any additional information from you I will let you know. Thank you very much for your patience and assistance!

Nathan

I created a "new listing" from scratch and the same thing happened. I decided to forgo the Custom Item Specifics last night when I listed items to speed it up but I NEED THEM back!

Hello,

I wanted to let you know that our engineers have been able to duplicate the problem. At this point they have a general idea of the cause, but are narrowing it down to the specifics. I will let you know as soon as more information is available.

Nathan
