This is about a problem which has existed, uncorrected, since September 2006.

Shipping costs to both Canada and Mexico are lower than those to the rest of the global community. However, the Vendio Flat Rate shipping function does not mesh with that of the ebay system. When listing separate costs to ship to Canada, these costs usually do not appear correctly. And, when searching core items for Canada, the higher global shipping appears instead of the correct lower amount.

This incompatibility between the systems is the reason for Vendio's post: "NOTE: If you specify shipping costs for eBay Checkout, the order in which you list your options can be important. Please read the notes in the eBay Checkout table (in the eBay Shipping and Payment Details section) for more information."

Over the past 16 months, I have been able to maintain and grow my business by using the Vendio redirect checkout, and not using the ebay shipping function. However, recent changes that ebay has made precludes my listings from displaying internationally, because I do not list with their system. I assume that this applies to all Vendio users.

Further, all the Vendio users are experiencing the problem with the Canada/Mexico shipping rates.

Vendio's unwillingness or inability to correct the shipping function compatibility with ebay, will only place their customers lower in the new ebay search in the future.

Currently, I prefer to use the Vendio Redirect and do not wish to use that of ebay. I'm sure many more would do so, if they knew the benefits.

If you can't correct the shipping rate problem, could you at least contact ebay, and advise them that your customers are being penalized by ebay not showing their items internationally, because they are not using ebay shipping functions.

Three parties are losing because ebay does not display the items internationally - the seller, ebay, and Vendio.

Well, can, will, Vendio contact ebay about the loss of International display of items?

Or, is business so good for both Vendio, and ebay, that this will just be left to be forgotten?

I just don't understand why I can't run my business as I see fit, and not have to fall into step with the failings of Vendio's engineers, and ebay's stupid whim of the day.

I am not the only one who has had to adjust his/her business operations to work with the failings of both Vendio and ebay. However, this is a problem that at the least can be partially mended by communication from Vendio to ebay.

Why would ebay listen? "Vendio customers have launched nearly 300 million listings on eBay." That might be a good enough reason.

Hello,

This should be addressed by the combined listing tool thats been in the works for some time now, as essentially full support for eBay shipping and Payment details is required for it to work exactly like it does at eBay currently.

As for eBay not showing your items at all to international sellers, this is the side effect of opting not to display shipping costs for the eBay checkout. The side effect of turning it back on, so your international buyers can again see your items, is that depending on which rate you list first, eBay will display that international shipping cost as the only one for international customers. If most all of the items you ship internationally are going to Mexico, you would want to list that option first. Since you use the Checkout Redirect system, your international buyers will end up paying the correct amount for their location, but eBay may have misquoted them prior to that point if they failed to read your item description or check the Calculate shipping options listed in the item description (the calculators coming from Vendio.)

Christopher

Oh me ... this is just going to go on and on.

I sell all over the global community. And as you know, when I list a value for global shipping which is higher than Canada or Mexico, the shipping shown by ebay for Canada is higher. The reverse is true here.

So .... I use the Vendio Redirect without using the ebay shipping functions. Then I'm penalized because international items are not displayed. Perhaps Vendio is not concerned about my image at sale. I am. Sixteen months of this problem. Lesser companies have designed entire programs in shorter periods.

The sad part is that I have to pay for this continued problem. Even sadder, is that I continue to do so.

Hello Bill,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on this situation with us. I realize that saying anything other than "Its done, click here to use it" will generate such a reaction but know that it IS in the works.

Im sorry there isn't an available workaround for your situation.
Regards,
Christopher

Bill - I have the same problem. I think it is more important to show international shipping than it is to overquote the price for Canada and Mexico. I state the correct shipping in the listing and correct when I send the eBay invoice (don't use vendio redirect). I haven't had a complaint and I ship many items to Canada/week. I look forward to the change (hopefully it comes with a way to edit the 9000 listings in my ebay store.
