Hi --

I was updating my "global preferences" and one of the things I wanted to do was put my shipping options in a certain order, and I did.

BUT ... I wanted to leave them all unchecked so that I can just check the one that's right for the auction when I do the listing, but not have any default method pre-selected (that way, I don't accidently leave an option "on" that I don't want to offer).

That works fine for domestic shipping options, but for international, it won't let me close the page unless I select a shipping option for international.

I really would like them all to stay unchecked ... it's just a streamlining thing for me.

Any reason I have to pick an international shipping method as a default? Can they fix that?

Thanks,
Kathy

Hello Kathy,

Please try it this way:

Go to "My Account" --> "Global Preferences" --> check the box for "Offer international shipping" --> setup the shipping options in the order you would like (do not check any boxes to select one) --> uncheck the box for "Offer international shipping" --> save your Global Preferences. Then, when you list, check the box for "Offer international shipping". Your predefined shipping options should be available, and you can just select the ones you want to use.

I hope this helps. Please let us know should you have further questions.

Regards,
Nathan

Well, my only question would be: why can't you let me keep the box open, since I offer virtually 100% of my items internationally?

It's still one more step that I need to take than I would like to .... it is, as I say, a minor annoyance and just a little programming glitch. Somebody forgot to turn the prompt off on the international grouping.

You're right, though ... I can do that, but I'm in the same position that I am now, really ... and extra step.

But I appreciate that you got back to me.

Kathy

Hello Kathy,

You are forced to select at least one international shipping carrier when the international shipping option is turned on to prevent someone from thinking they had turned on international shipping, when in fact they had not selected any international shipping options. However, I have forwarded your suggestion to the product manager.

Nathan

Now I'm being a minor annoyance, aren't I?!? LOL.

I'm just saying the prompts should be the same for both domestic and international ... if you don't select a domestic, it'll prompt you to do it when you try to save or launch, and international should repond the same way.

The program should recognize that I haven't selected an international, and prompt me to, rather than require a default shipping method.

That's all.
