Last night I attempted to list 19 auctions, all received the following message:

Error 240: The item cannot be listed or modified.
The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.

I contacted Ebay and they say the problem is likely with the Vendio system as there are no restrictions or problems with my account.

I attempted to relist one item this morning and I received the same message.

Please advise.

I should add, that each item is unique, yet are similar to most other auctions I have listed in the past. There is nothing wrong with my listings, no violations, etc that I can find.

Hello,

The full error message coming back from eBay for this item is as follows:

"Attention Sellers!

It appears you are offering Google Checkout as a payment method which is not permitted in the eBay marketplace. Buyers have a wide variety of choices when deciding how to pay sellers. Most payment methods offer a high degree of safety and convenience, however, a few simply are not appropriate for the eBay marketplace. Based on safety concerns and input from the Community, eBay has established an Accepted Payments Policy that clarifies eBay's position on payment methods.

Please revise your listing by removing the non-permitted payment method."

If you mention Google checkout in your item description or your default listing text page, you will need to remove it prior to resubmitting these items.

Regards,
Christopher

I have removed it from one of the auctions and tested it. It seems to work ok.

The problem is that I use a Vendio Store and it seems that I cannot seperate my processing methods from my defaulted Auction Settings.

I sell products through my Vendio Store that I don't sell on ebay, and I accept alternative payment methods for those items including Google Checkout and processing Mastercard/Visa payments using our own merchant processing machine at our storefront.

Here is the dillema:

- I want my Vendio Store Customer to have these options: Paypal, Merchant Processing, Google Payments.

- I want my Ebay Bidders to have only have Paypal for their CC Processing payment option.

Can these options be set for each option or not? How do I resolve this problem?

Hello,

Your Vendio store items use whatever payment methods you have listed as defaults in your global preferences. This is the only place to indicate accepted payment methods for store items, so you would want to leave those alone.

For your regular auction items, they will default to using the same as your default settings when you create something from scratch, but whatever is actually IN the listing is what will be used. When you list something from scratch, just uncheck the google checkout option and continue with the listing.

Regards,
Christopher
