if I'm not hosting any images on Vendio's servers? I didn't see where we are given an option to use another URL location where the image is actually hosted at.

I would like to be able to at least continue my "Pay As You Go" account because I do like the dependable launch capabilites, not to mention that I've grown used to the set-up over the years.

Do I have any options in avoiding a monthly image hosting charge, or do I have to open a minimum image hosting plan just to upload only my gallery pic, OR do I have to drop Vendio entirely?

Hello,

eBay will now automatically use the first image in your listing as the eBay gallery image. So as long as you have an image specified within the description section of your listing, eBay should automatically detect the image and use it for your eBay gallery image as well.

Nathan

Thanks for the quick reply Nathan.

What happens if the first .jpg (in my case) is a HUGE logo that is part of my own template? And after that one is an accent .jpg. My actual item images don't start until below my description and above my terms.

Hello,

My understanding is that if the first image in your listing is a logo, then eBay will automatically use the logo as your eBay gallery image. If you need the ability to specify a specific image as the eBay gallery image at the time that you list the item through Vendio, then you will need to be subscribed to Vendio Image Hosting in order to do so.

Nathan

Hi again Nathan,

I was afraid you were going to say that.

Since it's been so long (over 7 years) since I've been to an eBay Sell Your Item page, I went to check it out.

When choosing images eBay gives you 3 options, Basic & Enhanced (eBay's servers) and Self-Hosting, where they direct you to insert a URL.

Why isn't Vendio providing that option, and do you plan to provide that ability in the future?

Hello,

There are no announcements available at this time as to if or when Vendio would provide fields for hosting one's own images.

Hi Chris,

I meant to get back here earlier and thank you for your reply. My apologies.

I'm disappointed that Vendio hasn't considered this option, or if they have, then I'd go so far as to say that they are purposefully not including that option in order to charge subscribers a monthly amount, even if they only have one pic per auction. I may be way off base in thinking that, but it's the first thing that jumps to mind.

All my images are being hosted elsewhere, including the first recurring image (logo) in my template (not an item image). In order to get the gallery image correct on eBay, I have no choice but to host that pic with you.

$36.00 per year may not seem like a lot to many people (replicating the hosting of one pic), but I'm trying to cut corners anywhere I can.

Another issue:

When I first posted my initial question above, I had changed my image hosting choice to the lowest rate plan. The change was acknowledged on the following page. BTW, I never receive confirmations of these changes.

I just double checked it, and it seems it got reverted back to the $9.95 per month.

Any reason why that would happen?

Thanks again in advance for your, or Nathan's, response.
