For the last 5 days, I have had a really hard time getting on the Vendio site. It has taken me an hour this morning. It happens several times a day, then suddenly I can get on again. Also, during those times, my pictures on eBay auctions are missing. I have emptied my cache, and tried using IE and Firefox, but it doesn't help.
Unfortunately if you are unable to get to the Vendio website at all, switching browsers won't change anything, nor would doing any maintenence on them.
The issue is going to be ISP related.
Are you still using Wightman Telecom by chance?
Just put in the URL of the site your trying to reach and it'll tell you if everyone has the same problem or if its just a problem from your location.
Running a tracert from your location while the issue is happening could help pinpoint where in the chain of computers from your location/ISP to Vendio where the connection is being dropped.

Thank you Chris. I had tried that website, and it was only down for me, so I have just spent over an hour on the phone with my ISP and I am finally back on Vendio!!

My "cure" was short lived. I have had to make 10 calls to my ISP, and have spent hours on the phone. Each time they change all kinds of settings, and it works for a while, and then I can't get into the site again. I have no problem with any other site.
Do you have any ideas? My ISP seems to have run out, and feel they have done everything, but I have to be able to get onto Vendio.Any suggestions would be very much appreciated, this is very frustrating.

Hi Chris, I can't even remember everything. 3 times the technicians took over the computer and did it by remote. The first thing is always to empty my cache, but my computer does that every time I turn it off anyway. Today I had to reconfigure something. Yesterday I had to make the clock on my computer exactly the same as the internet, that worked for about 2 hours. We have downloaded something called Sympatico Security manager, which was supposed to solve everything, at the cost of an extra $10 a month! Good for security, not helping with this problem.
They got me to add vendio as a safe site, again, worked for a while, but by the next day it was down again.
I honestly feel as if I have changed every setting on my computer! It always seems to work for a little while, but then fails again.

Can you think of any reason why I can only open the Vendio site intermittently. I have called my ISP about 15 times now. They thought it was a corrupt registry file, but I find it is also happening on my laptop, so it's not my desktop. I am wondering if you have heard from anyone else who has had the same problem. I have no problem with any other site. I have to do something about this!
We have received a similar report from one other customer, who also has Bell Sympatico as an ISP. Our engineers are currently investigating the problem. In the meantime, it would be helpful if you could provide us with a traceroute (note that it is only useful if run during the time you are having trouble accessing the site).
To do this, on Windows: Go to Start -> Run. Type the following command in in the 'Open' box: cmd
A black command window should open. In the command window, type:
tracert www.vendio.com
The output of the traceroute will show the path between your system and Vendio. To copy the text from that command window, highlight the text with your mouse then position your pointer into the title bar of the command window and click on the *right* mouse button, then click on 'Edit->Copy'. If you cannot highlight the text, right click with your mouse in the command window and select 'select all', then use ctrl-c to copy the selected text to your clipboard.
Here is an example output:
Tracing route to www.vendio.com over a maximum of 30 hops
1 <10 ms <10 ms 10 ms 10.128.0.62
2 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms 67.119.114.30

13 20 ms 20 ms 20 ms 128.241.88.1
Trace complete.
Please let us know the results.
Edited to add: Also, if you could run this for both vendio.com and images.vendio.com it would be helpful.
Regards,
Nathan

Our engineers are continuing to look into this, but at this point it appears likely that the problem is on your ISP's end. In the meantime, could you try to open a ticket with them? We will try as well, but often an ISP will only allow their customers to open a ticket with them.

Thanks for your replies. I managed to get one done, but then I could get back on the site, so I'll do the other test tomorrow when it goes down again.
