I am having trouble accessing the Vendio website from my Verizon FiOS ISP in Portland, OR. I can access the site fine from my laptop using my Sprint Broadband wireless card. When I connect my laptop (or any other computer) to my FiOS network, it will sometimes allow me to login to Vendio but sometimes will not allow me to login at all. When I am able to login, the site will stop responding within 1-2 minutes. If I click repair on my wireless connection in Windows XP, this usually fixes the problem for another 1-2 minutes until Vendio stops responding again.

I first noticed this problem around 5 PM Pacific on Friday 10/17 so it has been going on for over 24 hours now. Any idea of what is causing this or how to fix it? I have reset my wireless router several times and this has not solved the problem. All websites except Vendio are responding quickly using my FiOS connection.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hello Jonathan,

Please run a traceroute on your system to examine the actual network route between your system and our website. Note that it is important that you do this while you are having the problem.

On Windows: Go to Start -> Run. Type the following command in in the 'Open' box: cmd

A black command window should open. In the command window, type:

tracert www.vendio.com

The output of the traceroute will show the path between your system and Vendio. To copy the text from that command window, highlight the text with your mouse then position your pointer into the title bar of the command window and click on the *right* mouse button, then click on 'Edit->Copy'. If you cannot highlight the text, right click with your mouse in the command window and select 'select all', then use ctrl-c to copy the selected text to your clipboard.

Here is an example output:

Tracing route to www.vendio.com over a maximum of 30 hops

Hi, I am no longer having trouble accessing the site today. I will keep these instructions and post again to this thread with the results if the problem happens again.

Thanks,
Jonathan
