I have been trying to move customers to the new mailing list I created- manually moving them from the unfiled group- Then after I Get the message that the move was successful- I go to the list itself where there is the number of customers as 0 still.

Hello Annette,
You should be able to do this by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Customers" --> put a check mark in the box to the right of the email address --> select "Move" from the drop-down box next to "I would like to" --> select the folder you are trying to move it to in the drop-down box next to "selected customers" --> click "Go".

Yes, they are moving to the folder but when I go to Customer Management and see the folder there- The customer number is 0. Are these two files connected?

Hello Annette,
Do you mean you are looking for it in Customer Manager? The Customer Manager email lists are separate from the Sales Manager email lists. (Sales Manager email lists are included with Sales Manager, while the Customer Manager service is an additional charge.) You should be able to locate it by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Customers" --> select the name of the list/folder next to "Search for winning bidders in contact lists" and then click "Display Results". Note that you might need to navigate to a different page in order to see the email address.
