Hello, I am taking pictures with a digital camera and playing with the different settings.
I took a picture and uploaded to the auction watch site. When I right click and get a list of the properties it says the size is 13431. So using the informaiton below this would make it a 13.11K size.
K = 1024 bytes.
200K = 200 x 1024 = 204800 bytes.
13431 bytes = 13431/1024 = 13.11K
However, when I look at the size of the picture in my Auction Watch listing software (latest version) it states the size at 40 K
So I am confused. With my scanner I knew the exact setting and I never had to worry about this, but with the camera to get the best clarity I need to play and know my sizes.
It probably has something to do with the way you saved it on your computer -- unfortunately I am not able to figure out why. If you are using a graphics program of some sort to finalize the save in jpeg format, you could probably figure out the exact file size there for your image. Keep in mind we do not alter images during the upload process -- we upload them as they are on your computer.

Hi Sonya, The 13431 bytes did not come from when the image was on my computer. I obtained that number after I uploaded the image and then in the AW Image Hosting section on line I clicked on properties and obtained the 13431.
When I am in sales manager pro that is where it show the 40k, in the list of images that are at the bottom of the screen.
I have the box checked to compress the files under my auction watch options so is that what is happening?
Also, are you right-clicking on the full size image (meaning you click to load it, and again to view full size), or just the thumbnail in the image hosting page?

Could it be that the size I first checked was right after I uploaded the image to AW and it shows the picture. I think that size is different than what will be used for auctions.
Also in regard to download time. Whose time is that?? Ie. If someone has a dialup/modem connection will it be that?
