I'd like to use the checkout feature, but I'm not sure how if I have to calculate shipping and insurance after the auction closes. I generally charge actual s&i based on closing price and zip code.

How do I go about this? If a high bidder got to the checkout before I did, would they just see the price of the item w/no s&i? Or is there a way for the buyer to use checkout to enter all his or her information, then receive a follow up e-mail generated by AW with total costs including s&i?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Sharon

Hi Sharon,

If you are familiar with the WBN and post sale management, the checkout feature works exactly like that -- it is just an alternative way for your buyers to pay for the auction. You can have a set shipping and handling for the item upon launch and when they checkout, they will be presented with that amount. Or, you can set up calculated shipping for USPS Priority and when the buyer goes through checkout, the shipping will be calculated based on their zip code.

Let me know if this does not answer all of your questions.

Sonya

Hi Sonya,

If I've already launched the auction, is there anywhere I can go into post-sale details and add the fixed shipping price before the auction closes?

Also, could you please add this to my wish list? I would love it if buyers could enter all their info at checkout but NOT see a final price yet. Then I could calculate actual postage (I use UPS Ground since USPS Priority got so expensive) and insert that info into a final-price e-mail that goes to the buyer. I know this would make it a two-step process, but I've used it in other programs and it worked beautifully. Sellers would just have to specify that they want to do that in Global Preferences.

Thanks!
Sharon

I think it would be a lot simpler if you just check the zip code in the end of auction from ebay and send the wbn manually after you enter the correct zip code. It would save a step but you can't use the checkout button in the listing this way.
