I'm sure I am missing something but I can't find a way to search for a 'specific' item. I have heard people say they have templates set up to sell a particular item such as books or clothes, but can't seem to find how to do that. Please be gentle, I'm old and Polish!

You may set up templates in your My Account tab, in the eBay Site Specifics section. You will see there is a "See All Templates" button there -- click on that to create customized templates. Let us know if you run into any trouble along the way.
