I'm having problems with post-sale check-out on my "fixed price" listings only. I fill out the combined shipping info and adjusted shipping amount then send the invoice to the customer. On MY end, it all looks correct when I send the invoice. However, when the customer completes the check-out and vendio gives the total, it's giving a total with the shipping on "each" item (not a combined total). I've had several complaints from customers and didn't know what they were talking about until one customer copy & pasted her check-out page to show me. For example: I sell two bottles of lotion on a fixed price of $10.00 each. I send the customer an adjusted combined invoice for $20 plus $5 total shipping. When the customer fills out the check-out and comes to the total amount due column, it will show that she owes $20 + $5 + $5 = $30. Five dollars is my shipping rate on each bottle, if purchased separately. This is only happening on FIXED PRICE listings. It's never happened with any of my other combined sales, as far as I can tell. Customers are emailing me left and right, confused about the check-out because it's giving them a total with shipping on EACH item, instead of one shipping total. Please advise?

Hi Lollipopguild,
Can you give us an example? I mean an Order ID for which you sent the invoice with the right amount (I assume you printed the invoice using our services), and for which the checkout failed. It is very important that we have a working example for this issue.
Thanks in advance
Marius

Look at id #2925240447

It's a fixed price listing for two tubes of body cream. I filled in the combined shipping rate of $6.00 priority mail for both tubes. In the top right-hand corner of this page under shipping, you will see that the customer chose the $6.00 shipping rate (as opposed to the $5 parcel post rate). However, in the middle of the page where the grand total is shown, it says total shipping is $12.00. Hence, it's giving the customer an incorrect total everytime. Also, before I send the invoice, I DO check the box that reads: "Use the following shipping and handling settings for the entire order". Once again, this only happens on fixed price listings. All other combined listings total up fine. thanks for your help.

I had a similar problem. I sold a lot of wedding cameras on a dutch auction and offered a flat shipping price of $7.95 regardless of order size.

My winning bidders got a checkout charging them $7.95 PER camera.

I immediately sent them emails telling them to bypass the checkout and pay straight through Paypal with accurate totals that I provided them, but one had already canceled on me and bid on for something with "more reasonable" shipping prices.

This is costing me money.

Hi griffin,

You do not have any shipping discounts set up -- if you want to offer a discount on multiple wins, you should go to Global Preferences in your My Account and set one up. Doing this will help you avoid problems like this in the future.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi Lollipopguild,
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, item id #2925240447 is not a working example: it's a fixed price item, where you listed 2 as quantity for sale, and you have only one buyer for one of the items only. This is not an order, so I cannot test the scenario you provided.
On the other hand I have noticed that you do not have any shipping discounts set (see https://secure.vendio.com/my/acct/seller_global.html page, sections called "Calculate shipping on Dutch wins as 1 item regardless of quantity" and "Shipping Discounts", so you cannot expect your customers to receive a shipping discount at this time.

Marius,

You can't access that id number? It's on my post sale page. I can give you several examples as I have many fixed price sales. I know that it's a FIXED PRICE listing that I gave you. I'm ONLY having this problem on FIXED Price listings. I don't want to adjust my shipping discount page because I want to figure the shipping myself on combined/large orders. I've always done this but I'm all of a sudden having problems since I've been doing fixed price listings.

Hi Lollipopguild,

It's probably a misunderstanding.
From your first post I understood that you have problems with shipping discounts on orders that contain fixed-price items. If so, please give me the ID of such an Order.
It seems that you manually combine closed listings into orders. If so, the best way is not to automatically sent WBNs, but to send them at combine time. Once again, I wait for the ID of an Order for which the shipping discount failed to work.
