Thanks for the help with UPS. Whoever wrote the UPS instructions did an excellent job. However, now that I am trying to work with the Dazzle instructions, I am already stuck at the very beginning.

1. Download the Vendio layout file here
(it brings up a page that is anything but a download. Should I be saving this file as a certain name in a certain directory???)

2. Select the [File] -> [Open Layout] option from the menu bar
(Am I doing this in Dazzle??)

There are 2 titles in this section...do both need to be done or is one sufficient. For processing shipment.

I have a couple of other general questions. Do the items for export vanish once the item has been shipped? Should I be only exporting to UPS the items in items for export that we will be shipping UPS or does it not hurt to leave all checked and only process in Worldship the ones for UPS.

The same goes for Dazzle...should we only be checking the items that we will be shipping USPS?

We have been using Dazzle for quite sometime and I am very used to following directions...but these need major help. I would at the very least explain the process before even getting to the directions.

Hello,

Thank you for your patience. I have included the questions you asked in bolded text, to make things easier to follow:

1. Download the Vendio layout file here (it brings up a page that is anything but a download. Should I be saving this file as a certain name in a certain directory???)
The browser should already use the name 'Vendio.lyt' when saving the
file. You can change the file name if you like as long as you keep the extension ".lyt". The file can go wherever you like, generally somewhere under the "My Documents" folder.

2. Select the [File] -> [Open Layout] option from the menu bar (Am I doing this in Dazzle??)
Yes - this must be done in Dazzle; the only steps concerning our site
are the ones which make your browser download the export data. From
there, there are only steps to be done inside the UPS/USPS programs.

There are 2 titles in this section...do both need to be done or is one sufficient. For processing shipment.
The first one is enough. The second one ("To add custom RubberStamps: " ) is
a feature and it is intended for users who want to add more info on the
postage. We will be changing the help file to make that more clear.

Do the items for export vanish once the item has been shipped?
What are you referring to by "vanish"? Note that if the checkbox on the bottom of the "Export Shipping" page is checked, the next time when the user enters that page,
the items already exported won't be displayed there anymore.

Should I be only exporting to UPS the items in items for export that we will be shipping UPS or does it not hurt to leave all checked and only process in Worldship the ones for UPS.
It doesn't matter if you are selecting "UPS export" and you also have some USPS
items selected. We'll only export information for those items that can
be exported to UPS. So - yes, it doesn't hurt to leave all checked.

The same goes for Dazzle...should we only be checking the items that we will be shipping USPS?
The answer to this is the same as the above, for UPS.

Regards,

Sonya

I have set up everything up until the following 3 items, the last being the most important.

7. Navigate and find the import file (that you downloaded from Vendio).

8. Select "Text, XML" from the "Files of Type" option.

9. Select the "Open" button to begin the print process.

From what I can gather with these instructions the printing process would begin without giving me the opportunity to put in weight, Priority method, etc. in dazzle. I do not want to actually go through with step #9 since I have available postage that could be printed wrong. In ups the individual shipments can be accepted or simply not used....is the same available in Dazzle?
