HI,
This is a new one for me: I wanted to send some photos of a pottery piece to tias art pottery group- which in turn, emails my message to all the members. (I know I'll be charged 10 cents apiece for these photos- not connected to an auction as yet).
So, I uploaded them to vendio- and then used the urls for each picture in my email to tias by copy and pasting them (one at a time, with plenty of space around them). They work for me, but someone wrote back that all they see is a front page for vendio.
What did I do wrong?
This is my first post to the group- so redfaced! Please help.
Thanks,
mom
it is rather unusual to send via email URL's of your hosted images via email to other user. However this is possible. The error some of your recipents may encounter is probably generated by long, wrapped at (probably 72 characters) lines, which are not clickable, or lead to uncomplete URLs. If you need to send your parsonal pictures to friends or user groups, I'd suggest attaching them to the mails, from your local computer.

Thanks Marius, but the pictures can't come from my computer- it doesn't work.
They have to go from a host and I thought that I was all set, using Vendio. lol.
Can you please tell me the formula for a good url-using Vendio, if it would be possible.
I noticed that someone else used Vendio as a host- way back when- but didn't take note of how they did it.
To obtain the code which contains your image URL(s), follow these steps:
1. Click the Image Hosting tab.
2. Check the box next to the image(s) that you wish to select.
3. On the bottom of the page, click the "Attach" button.
4. Choose "Other Auction Site (generate HTML)", select New Auction, and click "Continue"
5. On the next page, copy and paste the entire block of HTML (which includes your image URL) into the description box of the auction listing form.
If you wish to use only the image URL, it/they will be embedded in the HTML code generated by our system. If you do not have the "click to enlarge" feature enabled, the image url will look like this:
If you have the "click to enlarge" feature enabled, you will need to alter the ".mids" URL to create the correct image URL. To do this, just remove the /.mids portion of the URL. Here is an example:
The "after" URL can be used in any auction and can be altered to point to any image in your list simply by changing the image filename portion - just be sure that the filename *exactly* matches the filename on our site (case-sensitive.)
