Good morning jefftal1,

Without using HTML in your description we don't have a layout at this current time where you can put two images, or more, on top of each at the top of the auction.

The image and item description text layouts for the new templates always place the first three images with the item description text, while any remaining images are placed just below the Standard Sections (such as "Payment" and "Shipping & Handling". This gives listings a more balanced look in cases where the item description text is not as lengthy as the images themselves, and also raises the visibility of the Standard Sections, if you choose to include them in your listings.

If you want to place more than three images above the Standard Sections, you can use HTML in your item description section to include more images. We will be looking into expanding layout flexibility as we make improvements to this new system.

I frequently use more than 3 images per auction. Usually 4, and at times, more, especially with vintage items where "detail" and "damage" close-ups are advisable; and
I was frustrated to find that this wonderful new feature plonks image # 4 under the description and payment section, where no-one will see it unless they've already decided to bid, and need to read all the instructions and terms!

Now you are saying "use HTML", when a 'selling-point' was " not a word of html needed". From sometimes having to identify, then paste, html in certain situations, like adding to gallery etc. during an auction, I've noticed how tricky it can be, even with helpful support from the Vendio team.

Will Vendio be offering html support or instruction that we can easily access? Or are we stuck with fewer images to use this new feature; must we try and learn image html and make a mess; must we rely on these message boards for help each time?

I'd be interested to know what (collectibles)items other than CDs, books, postcards, videos and pre-packaged goods never require over 3 images. Vintage clothing, jewelry, pottery, china, etc. scientific instruments, often do best with close-ups and varying views. When I buy, I appreciate the latter.

Hello uglimouse,

Note that we are considering adding more layouts depending on demand for this. I will be happy to pass along your comments to our product manager for evaluation.

Only as a possible workaround, you do still have the option to use the original templates where the images are all scrolled along the left/right to get everything in the same viewing area with 4+ images attached.

At this time, we are not setup to provide HTML support for creating your own image layouts unfortunately.

Regards,
Christopher

Christopher...

I would have to agree with some other posters......re:pictures.

We need the old option of being able to run 3 pics across the top and then all the way down either the right side or left side. This would not seem to be an impossible thing for them to add.

Please advise as I cannot use the templates without that feature as I too, use a lot of pictures.

thanks

Christopher,

I agree with these folks also. I have already had someone ask for photos that I already have on my auction.....but they are at the bottom!!!! ARGHHHH!!! I love the new templates, but don't like the limited options I have now for displaying photos! HELP!

Hi,
I, too, like the images across the top and down one side...I am using the new templates and putting a note in the description telling people to scroll down to the bottom to see the close-ups. Not ideal, but a tempoarary work around.

Yet ANOTHER request for MORE than just 3 images to appear on the top of the new templates . I, too, am a seller of vintage clothing who DEPENDS on 4-6 images for closeup detail. Bidders just DO NOT take the time to scroll down to see the other IMPORTANT photos. PLEASE make a new layout change ASAP.
