This morning I attempted to relist and BIN auction to just a regular auction.
Got an error message.
So, I had to relist it filling out the field for a BIN, why?????

Hello,
That is interesting. Please allow us to see this the next time it comes up, to test with.
We did find a bug where when you remove the BIN price and relist, eBay somehow posts the BIN price again with the item regardless. Engineering is checking into the issue.
