I am sick and tired of my AOL customers not getting my WBNs because of their AOL filters and I either have an upset customer or loose a sale because they do not get my emails from Vendio. Why can't Vendio get with AOL and set their filters to accept emails from Vendio!
Andale has been courting me to switch services and this one continual problem with Vendio has began to make me look at their service.
It makes me look bad as a seller.

Hello,

AOL has beefed up their security, starting around the time of the MS Blaster Worm and the Sobig virus, so that their customers would not be affected. Unfortunately this means that plenty of AOL customers have emails sent to them that are going to automatically go into their bulk mail folders or junk mail folders. The best recommendation we have is for you to try to play around with the subject line of your WBNs. Changing the wording can make a difference on whether something gets flagged as bulk mail.

Are you getting any email returned back to you that was originally sent to an AOL person or is it just your customers telling you that they don't receive the WBNs?

Regards,

Sonya

Hi and thanks for your reply.
No not getting any emails back. This is becoming a real problem, out of 10 NPB a month 8 of them are AOL people. All the others take extra work and time to complete sale. Is there any way to make the WBNs so they go out thru our own email address. Can copy and paste but does not pick up fields and other options. I guess another option is not to use Vendio WBNs but make my own WBNs and send them out. Very time consuming! Thanks for your attention to this matter

The problem is not limited to AOL. Comcast and Attbi seem to have upped their security levels also. I'm an AOL user and I have trouble getting through to those two domains. Also, if the buyer is using his email address from work, many corporations have set their networks to reject any email that contains the word "Ebay" in the subject matter. I've been experimenting with the subject line on a few of my manual WBN's to see if that helps.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

This is the reason it says on ebay "It is the responsibility of the buyer and seller to contact each other". Has anyone put a warning about this in their auction page?

Something I just ran across was a potential bidder who was registered with some kind of spam killer software site -- when he asked me a question about one of my items and I tried to respond, the site stopped me and told me to register so I could continue sending my email! I felt like I was being spoofed by a crummy bidder. So it's all over the place, not just AOL, not just eBay. (and, no, I didn't register -- I sent a message through eBay, figuring I'd let them deal with the message kicking back to them instead)

Hello everyone,

One other suggestion that may help all of you is to insert a Vendio Checkout button in your listings. Clicking on this takes the winner to the same secure checkout he would find when getting the WBN, and clicking the link provided in the WBN. You can have both the WBN and the Checkout button available -- this ensures that there is always a way for your winners to pay for their items, regardless if they get the email.

You can also include text within your auction that the winning bidder must either respond to the WBN or Checkout through your auction listing.

You can enable Checkout in My Account -> Post Sale Mgt. Options.

Regards,

Sonya
