What happened? I think ever since the image loading/refresh fix, I have to wait for ebay categories to load each time. I have comcast cable, & I can't imagine how long this would take with a dial-up. Waiting for the image refresh took a LOT less time than the categories load wait, PLEASE return it to the way it was. The other threads talked about aol & netscape, I have comcast and explorer

Hi there,

Have you tried clearing your browser cache, and rebooting your system? I am not sure why you are experiencing long delays in loading the categories every time - this should only happen once after eBay updates their categories. After the initial loading of the updated category map, the category page should load much more quickly.

Thanks,

Diana

I agree ... category loading is painfully slow and clearing the cache, etc. has nothing to do with it!

Hello,

Note also - if you have a default category stored in your preferences, this can slow the category page. If you use a default category, you might want to consider setting up an inventory profile instead.

Thanks,

Diana

I've tried it with both empty & full caches (full should mean that the page
is stored for quick viewing anyway!) and can't tell any differences. Even
if I'm using a default category it is still slow to load. No other web
pages take this much time, for example - the ebay "category overview" page
which lists Everything comes right up.

Regarding inventory profiles - I mostly sell 1-of-a-kind records and other items, in dozens of different categories, so that
sounds like a lot of trouble, since most I will never use again. I still don't have an explanation of why this
problem started maybe a week ago - ebay did not make any changes to the
categories that I've seen, and suddenly there's this "loading" going on,
which needs to be eliminated

Slow? .. how about nothing, I get a webpage error symbol at the bottom of window. And yes I do have my java script on. Nothing is uploading. The "loading symbols" disappear.
