I have checked on the paypal site and I am eligible for this option on my eBay auctions. I believe my settings are correct. My question is what vendio settings do I need to have the Paypal buyer protection logo show up in my auctions? Currently only the regular purchase protection logo shows up. example my eBay auction #3560989918.

Hi Spoilerman,

What are your eBay settings right now, for Payment? You can check this in My eBay > Preferences > Update Payment/Checkout Preferences.

Sonya,

Paypal button I have checked "Show Pay Now button for PayPal only (formerly "Checkout Off"
Note: This button only appears if you offer PayPal." Paypal preferences= "Tell my buyers that I prefer PayPal payments". I have no info in the address section for checks or money orders.

Hi Spoilerman,

Thanks for the information. I will need to check on this, I think you might have to have the Checkout turned on in order for the PayPal Buyer Protection logo to show.

Sonya

How would that then affect my vendio checkout?

Hello,

I have heard back on this inquiry. There is one thing you will need to change in order to have the PayPal Buyer Protection logo appearing. In Vendio, go to your My Account tab in Global Preferences. For your PayPal preference, please choose this option:

"Include the PayPal Checkout button and logo in my listing"

Your eBay settings are fine.

This will only apply to new listings you do -- currently active listings will have to be edited individually.

Sonya

Sonya, In the past Vendio has "not recommended" the exact solution you just gave this person. Is it acceptable now since the PayPal info now comes into the buyer info of the auction.

Hello,

The following is taken from a previous post on this issue:

To get the Buyer Protection displayed on your listings, eBay and PayPal require you to submit PayPal as a payment preference when you list your item. In other words, you would need to change your PayPal preference at Vendio to "Include the PayPal Checkout button and logo in my listing." You do NOT need to change any preference at eBay to enable this feature.

Obviously, that change presents a potential conflict with your desire to use Vendio Checkout, since some buyers may use the PayNow button instead of Vendio Checkout. If you have decided offering Buyer Protection is more important than assuring Vendio Checkout use by buyers, we recommend three additional actions:

1. Add language in listings more strongly suggesting Vendio Checkout is your preferred checkout method. You can alter/add this text in the "Payment Instructions" in MyAccount/eBay Site Specifics.
2. Select the eBay Pay Now button preference "Show Pay Now button for PayPal only." This preference will not enable eBay checkout for checks/money orders/etc.
3. Set up Instant Notifications at PayPal. While you won't get the full benefits of Vendio Checkout, you will be able to capture payments that may occur through PayPal directly, including the eBay Pay Now button. You can learn more about these notification by clicking the "receive notifications" link next to the PayPal preference.

We are working on more elegant solutions to resolve this conflict, and we hope to have more information related to those a bit later this year. Thanks and take care.

Regards,

Sonya

If using the discount feature for multiple auctions the formulae offered by ebay are structured differently than Vendio's eBay does not seem to have a percentage (I use 75% off each additional) they only have a $ off amount etc. so the different checkouts will calculate different amounts for the same transactions.
Republican, the other white meat!
