From my end, I am discerning that Vendio changed its program today on loading pictures. Up until yesterday, all I had to do was select from the list...the thumbnails automatically appear...and then submit. It appears to me, that today, the program is requiring one to click the attach button (which I did not have to do before) in order to get pictures into the auction. In general, the many recent changes that Vendio has introduced along with some other confusing annoucements regarding changes at eBay is taking me back to the time when Honesty changed to Andale and it was just awful. In my view, the more bells and whistles you try to put on these programs....the more updates with more unforseen bugs all goes in the mix. I have been a very good customer. For whatever it is worth, I am in a stage of doubt as to Vendio's dependability.

Hello,

There are actually no more clicks than there were - you always had to click to attach your images. The preview feature is new and it will allow you to see the image you are attaching by highlighting the filename before you attach it. This should be more of a convenience than a hindrance - also note that the attach process is quicker now as it does not require the page to refresh.

If you have any questions about this please let us know.

Thanks,

Diana

I'm sorry....that sounds like a bit of spin. It may well be that you had the INTENTION of the process working such that one need always click the attach button, but that was not the way it was working up until yesterday. Something changed today...and somebody just didn't talk about it. In addition, there is a problem with gallery photos loading into the auctions I have listed. I see another person has had the same problem. Again, dependability...and I would ad, communication is a big question for me here. Finally, I typically have 100-300 auctions always going...it's not like I'm new at this.

Hello,

We have altered the attach image process, in order to eliminate any confusion users might have made between simply previewing, and attaching images. We understand that this ran counter to the way you were using this feature; indeed, you are now required to click the Attach button explicitly, OR to hit the Enter key after selecting the images.

We have also slightly tweaked the way Gallery promotional options are selected. Again, this was done in order to make the process clearer and less error-prone for those users who do not use the gallery often. If you use gallery regularly, we would recommend setting it, together with an image, in My Account, eBay Site Specifics. When creating listings afterwards, all you have to do is (perhaps) change the image.

The changes we made lately have strived to make the listing process friendlier and, whenever possible, quicker. All your comments are welcomed and valued.

Thanks,

-Radu

OK. I just reset my eBay specifics with a gallery photo as directed. There are two issues with this whole episode.

1) Vendio has altered both the regular and gallery photo process with the last day or so....and didn't tell anyone. This caused a lot of downtime for me in figuring out the problem and then correcting auctions manually from eBay--costing me more money.

2) The requirement of setting the gallery with a photo in eBay specifics will run into a problem??? when the life of the photo expires--or does the gallery function here exempt that photo from expiring?

Hello,

Thanks for your notes. We are aware of this limitation, with the chosen gallery image possibly expiring, or being deleted by the user.

What happens is that, on the Create Listing page, the gallery radio button will still be set, but with the image drop-down on "Not Selected". If the user fails to select an image, an error will show ('You must select a picture to display in the Gallery').

Actually, we have also decided to relax the gallery rule for My Account, eBay Site Specifics: you can now select a gallery option without being forced to choose an image.

Thanks,

-Radu

None of my pictures showed up in the auctions I listed, I had to go back and manually add the picture to each auction. I did everything exactly as always, yet there seems to be some change in adding pictures to my auctions. I am guessing the extra new step is to click on attach pictures after the little pictures pop up for review, is this right? Could there be a message letting me know when something is changed like this, I couldn't find any announcement for this. Thanks.

O.k., we know now that the gallery image selection process changed. But here's the rub: it took at least 2 hours last night fixing these things directly on eBay, which is a real pain. Note the following issues and maybe there are other ways to handle this issue:

1) The error message that caught the selection of the Gallery button but no picture needs to equally provide the user with an error when a picture is entered and the Gallery button is NOT selected. At least we'd catch a problem like this upfront.

2) We need to have the capability to cut and paste ONLY the http://... path when we need to add gallery pics only. In other words, the hefty html code provided with all the Vendio banners works fine for adding pics in the auction, but doesn't work well for adding Gallery shots.

Please take some time to reconsider the position you've posted here and admit the changes yesterday SHOULD HAVE BEEN POSTED SO WE'D NOTICE THESE THINGS WERE DIFFERENT. When I'm slashing through entry of 20 auctions I'm not seeing these subtle changes and 'enhancements.'

Vendio, thanks for nothing. I now have a page full of eBay auctions and no images. I'm not the only one. I see by the other comments that no one was informed of this change and your answers are the same to everyone. Why don't you admit you messed up. This is costing me time and money and maybe its time to change services ...without notifying you.

Same problem for me too. The photos on the listing I just created did not get sent to eBay. I had to go in and upload them through eBay at additional cost to me.

The Vendio process HAS changed in the last couple of days. This is not the last publicized photo process change of a couple weeks ago, this is a brand new change that nobody heard about. I check Vendio every day and did not see anything about it.

Hello,

An announcement on this feature was posted on October 24. It is still in the Announcements forum -- it's called "New Image Hosting Enhancements Now Available".

I have been listing the past couple of days, and have gotten my photos on just fine. What I haven't been able to do is get the $.25 thumbnail image to come up on the ebay search page. I thought I was adding it correctly to all my listings, but I notice that not one thumbnail is showing when I do a search under my ebay name. I am being charged for this, though. Does anyone know the scoop on this? Thanks, ghobz

what a load of crap. i have 187 auctions in pending that i am now going to have to figure out the photos that go with each one, simply because i did not read the new rule posted. like i have the time to check out every new rule by vendio, ebay, paypal, etc.

how about a notice on the listing page where i am at every day. you people need to think. will there be some compensation for the hours this will take me to change. HA
