Every week I send the EOA notices thru Vendio. Every week at one or two buyers, a day or so later, send an email that says "send me your address so that I can send you a money order". Every week I check to see if these dim bulbs have completed the checkout, to find that they haven't. Every week, I send them a reply that I have sent the checkout email, and to check their junk mail folder if they don't see it in their email in box. Every week, it's an item that only sold for the opening bid, and winds up sucking up a bunch of time with a high-maintenance buyer.

I guess I should be glad I had a bidder.....Thanks for letting me vent.

Let Me Guess these Bidders Use AOL we get the same thing happening here no matter what we do some bidders cannot access vendio checkout or when they do we get the famous " I tried to use your checkout but for some reason it wouldn't let me please email the total and how you would like to get paid" email for some reason Vendio will not address this issue no matter what they try i.e.direct link to checkout on the auction page it still does not work for these AOL /Compuserve users.
Good luck
It probably will not get better it's been like this a while now and the complaints fall on deaf ears.
we gave up and conformed to copy and pasting form letter replies to these questions Turned on every option for bidders to get our address at ebay checkout and use the paypal paynow button its a lot of copying and pasting but answering 100 emails and the next 100 for questions after that just is not worth the headache.

And I thought it was just me. I wonder if it would help if I switched to the PayPal invoice feature?

That's what I did. I now use PayPal to send out the post auction notices, to print out packing slips, and to send feedback once I have received a payment. Once I do those two things, then I delete the item from the PayPal Post Sale Manager.

Then, I go over to Vendio and use it only as a checklist. A little checkmark when someone pays, a little checkmark when I ship a package, a little checkmark when I follow up with someone. Once I receive feedback from the buyer, I archive the record on Vendio. I don't use the customer checkout function on Vendio at all now.

It has made life MUCH easier for me to use the combination of the two.

Thanks folks, I think I'll give the PayPal checkout a try.

Ever notice how it's the $4.99 sales that eat up the most post-auction time, while the bigger ticket items seem to get paid for quicker and more smoothly?

Must be some sort of law of dimishing returns at work here.

I haven't found that the problem is related to AOL at all. I use AOL from home and have a Verizon DSL line at my office and they both work just fine. I really think it's what you said above...dim bulbs. They just don't get it. I've gotten frustrated to the point that you feel like you're talking to a child and trying to lead them to the BIG YELLOW BANNER that says "CHECKOUT" at the end of the auction. Or simply cut and paste the following link. It works just fine when you explain it in really simple terms, but as you said...it does take up way too much time. You wonder how some people even manage to bid on these things or even figure out how to turn on a computer.

Sorry, guess I've had my share of dim bulbs myself this week.

Grrrrrr....!

I guess my question is with all the great things that vendio DOES have How come Your checkout system Fails us. While the new halloween and thanksgiving templates are nice and everything they do not help us complete the sales efficiently. Are there any plans in the future to implement a new checkout system that everyone can access.

Hello,

Not everyone will want to fill out a checkout form, no matter what you try to get them to do it. We have worked to make it as simple and easy as possible, if you have suggestions that you think will work for checkout, please feel free to let us know. We make our changes and improvements based on user feedback, so your opinions are important to us.

Regards,

Sonya

Again this is not a new issue it is not that they will not perform checkout it is that they are unable to click the link or when they do get to the page it does not work on their browser. A more compatible system would help this matter. I don't if it was you or not but someone from vendio once told me that it was a browser language problem and pretty much there was nothing that could be done except throw the dice and see if these certain people who use certain ISP's can work around the check out. that was about a year ago now and although you added a couple of different things to try and help this matter it is not becoming easier. This is the follow up email i have sent last night to see this bidders reaction.

here goes

again simple enough

> hi, i entered my id and couldnt get on your site..if you can just send me your mailing address and my total...i can send payment right out..my address is

mike

I do not think the problem is that they do not want to check out as i have numerous emails from numerous parties explaining the same thing as mike has to me.

Now I'm not a Technical whiz to even begin to suggest program changes it just seems to me that there is this browser language Issue that is causing this whole process

again I appreciate everything vendio does have but this check out system is very important to cutting our post sale management time down and as the previous posts have stated it is become a waste of time to even use the vendio checkout

Thank you for your replies but i guess vendio's hands are tied on this matter and would just like to know so i may set a new system in place for dealing with these problems as the system that i use now is not cutting it.
Thanks again for you time

I have had the same problem with the vendio checkout for 3 years and complained numerous times. Finally figured to stop the Vendio checkout and purchased the Ebay Selling Manager Pro and now use the Ebay checkout. Now have fewer problems. Cutting out the middleman "Vendio" in the process seemed to make sense. Emails from the ebay checkout are more reliable. Only use Vendio for Inventory and pics hosting.

wake up guys go try another service and you all come back !!!! Vendio is by far the best dont use the stupid automatic replay , beside you can post your address in the email so even if they dont click the link they see your address , Vendio is not a middle man but a service and by far the lowest cost and the best picture hosting !!!

I agree that vendio is a great service its just that there can be improvements in some areas as far as the address in WBN Been There Tried that all that does is send more emails my way and payments with no item # and we have no idea what the payment is for or where to ship it it was fine when we were only doing 100 listing but try this at the 1000 listing level you will see what i'm talking about

I'm a fairly new Vendio user, but have run into people who ask for my address to send a check to. Thinking some people may assume going thru the checkout is for paying online, I just added the following to my WBN:
"If you wish to pay by check or M.O. you will receive my address when using the Vendio Checkout."
Will have to see if it helps.

Also I have had one person so far that was unable to pay use Vendio checkout, said it kept crashing her computer. So I sent her a paypal invoice instead. Hoping that doesn't happen very often as I am trying to cut down on extra emailing!
