A customer sent the following email after receiving an automated shipment notification email from me:
You do send very nice emails but just so you know...I, like many other internet customers might also be doing, purchase dozens of items every month online, from ebay, half, amazon.com, etc... so while I do appreciate your email notification, I have no idea whatsoever as to what item you might be referring to. You might try to figure out a way to include the title or descriptive name of the item purchased. This could also increase your feedback ratings, as then when I go to leave feedback, I'd remember it was your 'company' that took the time to sent the emails.
Thanks anyway.
I thought Vendio puts the item number and/or name to all automated emails either in the subject heading or the body. I guess not. Maybe they should...

I have customized my emails to include the item #, the name of the auction with a description, and the date that it ended. If you go to your "Account" page and look at the automated emails, I believe over on the right of the page you'll see where you can add a code to have Vendio insert these things automatically (listed as something like %%Auction%%, %%Item%% , etc.). But all my emails include these things so people know exactly what the email is all about. Hope this makes sense.
