Hi all, the infamous error 5112 strikes again. Relates to incorrect category or invalid site specifics. Well, before I wrote this email I checked ebays site map. It shows European Art Pottery as category #3557. When I try to enter that as a category it shows up as locks and keys. The normal category for European Art Pottery has always been #1044. And when I start a new auctuion and enter the category that is the number that shows up. So something is messed up somewhere. I had 5 auctions error out last night. All European Art Pottery and all for the same reason. These by the way were all relists so they worked last time about two weeks ago. Christopher launced one for me that errored out for the same reason. Would greatly appreciate your doing it again until this problem is resolved. 10 days starting at 8PM. Thanks, Steve

Well it gets wierder still. I just tried again by going into starting a category. I relooked up Art Pottery European twice more and each time came up with a different category. Once with 3570 and next with 3572. Neither one works. When I type them in to the #box for categories they just disappear when I try to go further. So, now we have four numbers, 1044-3557-3570-3572 none of which seems to be correct, HELP!!! Steve

Well, tried to list them again. Went in and edited each and every auction and noticed that the item specifics wer not listed. It says everything in BOLD must be listed. They were there last time around, How they disappeared is a mystery. Lets see if they launch tonight. I launched everyone of the 5 that errored out after putting in the specifics. wouldn't hurt though for you to check each one though to see if there is anything else wrong. thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

What is the link to the site map you got those category numbers from? I'd like to take a look at it.

As I was checking your scheduled listings, I noticed that for the listing 'MASSIVE 19thC FRENCH POTTERY BATTER DOUGH BOWL' eBay changed categories during the preview so your main category 20093 was changed to 63591. I left it unscheduled so you would have a chance to correct this and then reschedule it.

Other than that, I checked all your scheduled listings and they eBay-previewed fine so they should list tonight. If they don't please let me know.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi ol friend Sonya, greetings from Provence. I first tried it the old fashioned way. Went in as to list an auction and put in pottery and glass-art pottery-european. Came up with 1044. Then I went into ebays site map and scrolled down to categories and again pottery and glass-art pottery -european and three times came up with all those different numbers, this time 3568. I think i'm screwing up and reading those numbers as categories when in fact they are quantities of items listed under that particular category. I apologize for the misinformation. However if 1044 is correct why am I erroring out? I will look at the dough bowl and correct it. Hopefully all will list ok tonight. I know I had the correct site specifics in before as I have listed many of these majolica pitchers in the past with no problems. I see from other threads that other folks are having the same problem, so this is something that seems to be occuring at ebays end that the information is not being read properly by their computer. lets see what happens tonight and if there is still errors I will write back in the morning. If you don't hear from me all will be ok. Hey, have a lovely weekend. Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,

The category reading you got from eBay is common mistake as it's not quite evident that those are the number of listings in that specific category -- not the actual category number. Everything looked good to me when I checked so if you get an error let us know so we can investigate it.

Have a great weekend yourself!

Sonya

Good morning Sonya, if this was baseball I'd be doing great. batting .500. But since its auctions I'm not doing so good. Out of the six pottery auctions launched last night three went on and and three errored out. The three that errored out were the bowl, the marabout and the monkey. They had the same exact item specifics as the others so there should be no reason why error 5112 showed up. Please take a look and see if perhaps you can fix it. Thanks, Steve

Hi again Sonya, well they have errored out again. Why three would launch and three not that have the same item specifics and everything else basically exactly alike is a mystery. Would appreciate any help you can be in getting them launched. Thanks, Steve

I just tried to list an item and I am getting a date error.
There is nothing wrong with the listing.
What is going on?
This is not a relist!

Hi Steve,

Please open up your listings, click on the 'copy' button and launch the copy. I was afraid this might happen with your listings -- unfortunately with Error 5112, the only way to resolve it is to either relist right on eBay and import the listing into your Vendio account, or to make a copy and launch the copy (thus not counting it as a relist, but as a new auction).

rubys100 -- I checked your account and didn't see any errored out listings in pending. Which listings gave you your error?

Regards,

Sonya

Hi Sonya, there is one pending that when reviewed on ebay gave me the dreaded message.
I did a quick Vendio review and let it stand in pending, however I think I will get a message when it is processed.
This is a new listing, not a relist.
I would appreciate it if you could review the listing and let me know if there will be a problem.
I am hesitant to list any more, I can't afford to have these problems.
Thanks

Hi Sonya, boy, that is time consuming. First I had to click on the auction to get it to copy because the line read error-details not copy. Then I had to edit the auction to save - then relaunch - then delete the old auction that stayed there in pending. Is there a quicker way that I don't know about? But I did get a notice stating that they are successfully launched. I hope so! I launched them for Thursday night at 8 PM. lets keep our fingers and toes crossed. Thanks again for your help. Steve

Hi Rubys100,

Go ahead and resubmit -- if it comes back in error, save it in pending with the error and notify us it's there. You've got a lot of listings in pending, so it will help us to know which one to view.

Steve -- there's an easier way to copy. If you click the title of the auction it opens up the listing. Make any changes you want to make, then scroll up to the top -- you should see a blue 'copy' button. If you click that, it will copy itself (you'll know because a red message will appear saying you are now editing the copy). Then scroll down and launch te copy.

Regards,

Sonya
